3 police officers killed, 2 wounded in York County, Pennsylvania, shooting; suspect dead

Three police officers were fatally shot and two others were wounded in a shooting Wednesday.

The two injured officers are in critical but stable condition at the hospital, Paris said.

The gunman is believed to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the sources said.

York County District Attorney Tim BarkerThe York County District Attorney released the names of three police officers, as well as a suspect who was killed, during a shootout at a North Codorus Township farm Wednesday afternoon.

DA Tim Barker identified the slain officers as:
Det. Sgt. Cody Becker
Det. Isaiah Emenheiser
Det. Mark Baker

All three worked for the Northern York County Regional Police Department. A fourth officer from that department was wounded and is being treated at WellSpan York Hospital. Barker said the "actor" in the shooting was Matthew J. Ruth. Barker said he would not mention his name again and would only refer to him thereafter as "the actor."
