Why can Alabama not attract one??????????

Teboe to Florida...............5*

Mustain to Arkansas..........5*

Stafford to Georgia...........5*

Ainge to Tennessee..........5*

With Shula I thought we would be a "slam dunk" to pick up ONe?????

:conf2: :conf2: :biggrin2: :conf2: :conf2:

first of all i dont think any coaches check rivals to see wut a recruits star rating is before they offer them...

2nd.. marve will at least be a 4* before signing day he is having an incredible year..

Marve has moved up to a four star and yesterday afternoon on the Sports Breakdown here in TTown I believe it was Andrew Bone who was saying that Marve would possibly move up to a 5* before the end of the year.

Stafford, although from Texas, was always going to GA. His parents are GA grads and he was raised expecting to go to GA. Mustain was always going to Arkansas and Tebow was always going to Florida. While these three will develop into outstanding QB, I have been incredibly impressed with JPW -- his demeanor, calm in the face of onrushing defense, and willingness to stand in the pocket despite blitzing LBs and safeties. He's a keeper!

Safford looks fantastic for a true freshman!!

He has a cannon, and has a pretty good deep ball, unfortunately, he has a bit of Brodie Croyle syndrome. He throws so hard his recievers can't seem to catch it.

I'd rather have Mustain at Arky than Matt Jones any day.

Brodie Croyle was a five star, and no offense to Brodie, but he didn't exactly live up to the hype. I just want a solid QB. JPW has been that and will only improve, will probably hold multiple Alabama records when he leaves here and he was just a three star. Stars are fun to look at, but when you step on campus, you and every other freshman have to prove their worth, regardless of stars.

Brodie hit Bama at the wrong time. If he were just now coming into Bama there is no telling what he could do. He still set records while being injured and having a very poor supporting cast.
JPW will shatter all Brodies records.......then his records will be in danger from the other QB's following him.

I say give JP until next season and those HS rating people will be kicking themselves for NOT calling him a 5 star QB. When it's all said and done...JP will be better than Teboe anyways

:eek2: - Don't hold your breath . That's a mighty bold statement .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

I don't think that statement is too 'bold' or what have you...

I think that JPW is and will be a better passer than Tebow - that's what matters to OUR offense. Tebow will, of course, will be a great QB on his feet (JPW not too shabby either). Like that dude at WVU.

When all is said and done (2-3 yrs down the road), I don't think there will be much seperation between the two.

Tebow is no one-trick pony. He passed for almost 10,000 yards in HS.

If there is one position at BAMA that I don't worry about, its at QB. Coach Shula has lined up some outstanding talent for us there.

I am really excited about the guys choosing to come play QB at UofA. I think we will be seeing some fierce competition at QB of which we haven't seen since Watts and Zow. I hate that part but I love how it pushes them to be even better.

Thankfully someone finally spelled his name correctly .

Not to be a d---:eek2: but , there probably aren't more than handful of QB's in the nation(of any class) that coaches wouldn't trade for Tebow(true freshman) in a heartbeat . JPW and P.White included .

There's the problem with the rating systems, or more to the fact the fans way of looking at the systems!

Brodie was 5* in so many ways, although the one thing he couldn't do was take on a D line by himself! So before anyone can say a certain player didn't live up to the HYPE, they need to measure the whole team very carefuly!

JPW is solid right now, especialy for a Sophmore in his first season, but at the rate he's getting sacked & more precisely HIT in the pocket, it's hard to say what his future will be......Right now he looks like the walking wounded!

How many of these 5* QB's and Running Backs that are looking like their 5*'s don't have a better than average O line? Just look at the top 10 teams, and be honest about it while your looking!

Thats why I will continue to say the most important position'S on a football team are in the O & D lines!
When I was playing in high school my dad would take the whole O line out to dinner on Sunday evenings!

Hey...JPW's little brother took it to Tebow in HS. Tebow isn't a great passer and JPW has maturity beyond his years. Tebow will find out that running QBs in the SEC end up getting hurt. Wait till Bamas D is back where it was last year and Tebow tries to run...when he gets his head knocked off a couple times and has to sit back and pass we will see who the better QB is. at least JPW is taking his lumps now and learning how to pass under pressure. No I'm not saying he's perfect right now but he WILL get better. So sport your Gator T-shirt and root for Teboe all you want but Alabamas QB from Alabamas top high school is gonna be better than that Florida QB HANDS DOWN!!! As for his passing for 10,000 yards in high school...well...he didn't play high school ball in Alabama did he?
