A different name appears in caller ID

When I call people that do not have my number already saved, a different name comes up for caller ID. Out of curiosity, I googled my own number and sure enough there is the other guys name. I have had the same cell number for 20 years. How the hell is that possible?

For YEARS my dad's number showed up in caller ID as 'Destiny'. Became a long-running joke amongst us.

Now Days crooks can make calls by Cloning your number. Lots of spam calls are hiding behind legit numbers.

The main thing that stuck out to me in your statement is you have had the same cell number for 20 years. I have not found a company yet that I would be loyal enough to not change way before then.

I have changed companies 3 times. They just let me keep the same number all 3 times.

You need to call your service provider. They can change it back to what it should be.

In my case, the companies have changed under me - CellOne, PowerTel, VoiceStream, T-Mobile, but my number's remained the same...
