For a semi-computer dummy (you know me -- I know just enough to get myself in deep computer trouble)! :)

The icons on my desktop keep changing size (they're too large). I go to CP, display, and change the size -- no problem, and looks great.

However, after turning my computer off and turning it back on again, the large icons are back again. Is there something in my start up that's causing this problem or what?

Help!!!!!!!! :eek2:

Is there a toolbar that says "Save Changes" or something similar, before you exit out?

Sometimes, when you make changes, you have to hit the "Apply" button or something similar.

A couple of quick questions:

1. How do you turn off your computer? If you simply flip the power switrch instead of using Windows shutdown, configurations won't be changed.

2. What programs are in your startup folder? There may be a program in there that is resetting the screen resolution.

3. What graphics card do you have, and do you have the latest drivers?

Sometimes, when you make changes, you have to hit the "Apply" button or something similar.

On the screen where you make changes in the screen resolution, the greater the resolution the smaller the size of the icons. After you complete your adjustments, first hit the "Apply" button, then the "OK" button. This will save the changes into your system registry. The next time you power your system on, these changes should remain intact.
If they revert to the original default settings, your system's memory battery may be too low to hold the changes. A good indication of this will be if your system clock will not maintain the correct time and date.
