I've heard that he and Downs are tight, and Ohio St might be in play. I'd rather that be the spot instead of UGA.
OSU is the early leader but I've heard both Tennessee and Texas today are making inquiries. Georgia may not be as interested as some think.

Here's something else to look at with Haynes: His 2024 stat sheet is heavily loaded into just 2 games.

To begin with, almost 1/4 of his total yardage came on 4 carries against Western Kentucky. 4-for-102, 25.5 avg.

After that, here was his production (sorted for ypc):

2. Missouri 8-for-79 (9.9 avg.)
3. Wisconsin 2-fo-17 (8.5 avg.)

4. Mercer 6-for-37 (6.2 avg.)
5. Oklahoma 3-for-18 (6.0 avg.)

6. Georgia 6-for-35 (5.8 avg.)

Games 7-12 -- no games over 3.8 ypc or 46 total yards

Basically his production was heavily skewed by the WKU and Missouri games. The others he either didn't carry much, didn't get production off his carries, both, or was something like the Mercer game where anyone could have done it.

By the way, we'll try to put out an update over the weekend with some new names to look out for, but WR Mario Craver of Mississippi State is becoming a real possibility.

Haynes reminded me of Brian Robinson as he wasn’t fast didn’t seem real elusive in open space but didn’t break as many tackles. His skill set seem to fit more for ALabama teams 10 years ago then the wide open shotgun read option style. Robinson stayed and waited out his time but he wasn’t as highly recruited as Haynes so not surprised he decided to leave. I was very high on him this year but it just didn’t seem to work out for him here and other places that could be better fits for his style.

I posted this a few weeks ago in a postgame thread but it's relevant to your point....

Speaking of Elite here's an interesting tidbit I saw elsewhere..

Jalen Milroe vs Top 10 Defenses (FEI) the last 2 seasons

2023 - #1 Michigan, #6 Texas
2024 - #4 Georgia, #5 Tennessee, #7 South Carolina, #10 Oklahoma

Totals
109/177 (61.6%)
1,357 yards (7.7 YPA)
6 TD / 10 INT

Average Game
18/29 (61%)
226 yards (7.7 YPA)
1 TD / 2 INT

Team Record 2-4

I tried to find his lost fumbles stats too because I know he's had a ton.

But anyway he just absolutely melted down against the toughest defenses he faced.
I'm not disputing that Milroe's numbers weren't as good against Top 10 defenses as they were against lesser defenses. They undoubtedly weren't.

But these are Top 10 defenses for a reason, and I'm sure other QBs they faced performed worse against them than those same QBs did against lesser defenses.

Do we have any information on how much their performance deteriorated vs. how far Milroe's did?

I know last year we heard JM was basically banned from making the RPO "read." We continued to run the RPO, but supposedly JM didn't "read" anything, but the play call dictated whether he kept the ball or handed to the RB.

This year, it seemed it was giving that "read" back but I'm not real sure it led to much more success. I just know there were way to many times he handed the ball to a running back that got swamped by 2 defenders behind the LOS when it looked as though he should have kept the ball to run for a sizeable gain. The opposite often occurred when JM kept only for there to be nothing but a defender or two in his face.

It's been my opinion he just could NOT see/process the RPO read fast enough/good enough for it to be successful, but since his game depended on his legs so much we continued to run it.

I was glad to actually see us to start using more direct snap QB runs. I think this took some of the thinking out of it for him and he could use his athletic ability more (until he decided to sometimes try to run laterally and he'd be tackled by a shoe string).

Needless to say, I'm of the opinion that JM was detrimental to our talented running back room. They weren't used enough to get into game flows and their touches were severely limited because JM got a lot of their touches.

Oatis to Prime U.

Ouch.

Looks like he took the garbage out - himself.
LOTS of "I" ' s in his statement.

which reminds me of the mantra of just about all teams in all sports I played on growing up...

There's no I in team.

Cliche' but correct.

Just a reminder here's what coaches said when he decided to sit out after 5 games:

Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack: “He’s been battling injuries, not been able to perform or produce in the way that any of us would like. “But my focus is on the players that are going to do everything they can to help us win football games. So that’s really where my focus is right now.”

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer: "We move forward with the guys that really are able to help us win and focused on our program."
