I never thought CKD was not the right hire, man is very smart offensive mind, new system on both sides of the ball so there was going to be a adjustment, when he gets his players in to play his system brother watch out, as Kirk said Saturday night " it's not if he's gets his system going, it's when he gets it going" Bama will still be Bama

Seems Deboer has adjusted his demeanor after the UT loss. It’s clearly rubbed off on the team by the physicality we’ve seen the last two games. Those boys are playing with the MTAQ mentality Saban always spoke about.

Yeah, I think he realized the "happy go lucky" persona was giving misleading impressions to the team. Because ever since then I've watched him on more than one occasion get into players and sideline coaches. Sometimes chewing butt is the best medicine for an instant cure.

I think CKD is doing a great job but that's not a fair comparison.

CNS was dealing with Shula's players and roster and on Top of that had a bunch of players suspended for giving away Textbooks.
True but one of the losses was to La Monroe. LSU went on to win the NC that year and Miss St and Auburn were toss ups. but following post season number 1 recruiting class.

I was happy with hiring CKD and think he will be a good long term coach for BAMA. He came in, had to replace a lot of staff and I think it's been an adjustment period for all them to coaching in the SEC. We should have never had that Vandy debacle, but I'm hoping this last game against LSU means we have found what we want to do and will only get better moving forward.

Debour IS the man for the job. We are in good hands.
Like everyone...Bama is going to need a lot of NIL money going forward to continue to recruit at the highest level. I hope we can get a little more established with some in state recruiting.

I was unable to accept that the new normal includes losing 1 or 2 games unexpectedly. But this is how it is. Yet we now have a reasonable track to both the SEC game and the CFP12, that is a solid result that felt unreasonable to hope for after the Tennessee game. We have the #1 recruiting class on deck. If these things come to pass, I find the year to be satisfactory.

Yes, and I think CKD expects this as well. He lit into one assistant on the sidelines during the game because he had to use a timeout because we couldn't get the right personnel on the field quickly enough. I'm not sure if it was the weather or what, but I was excited we committed to the run because it brought out a physicality in the team I haven't seen all year.
Yeah, we lost an attempt at a FG because of a delay of game penalty. We wound up punting instead.

I think Saban realized this day was coming even for him. The conference had already gotten much harder compared to his earlier days and with the portal and NIL, it was only going to get harder. So, much like the NFL model, there's not going to be any undefeated teams and the fans are going to have to accept two-loss teams winning a NC.

Im just shocked that Lane committed to attacking the obvious weakness in the Saban defense and Sark didn’t. It kinda makes me think that Ole Miss may have a better team chemistry wise than Texas does because it’s been obvious for years that you destroy Alabama and Georgia defenses by hitting the middle through the air.

I think if in this cycle we get a good DL and a good group of linebackers then we will be very good next year on defense. I also believe Hubbard may be better back there than Saab at running this defense. So that may have unintentionally changed things too.
TBF, the tejas qbs didn't have time to hit those passes as jawja was blitzing a LOT...

One thing is for sure, the O-Line finally played a solid coherent road-grader kind of game. And Coach KD got to experience a "Home" game at Baton Rouge where you know everything has gone your way when the stands call it a day at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Something finally clicked evidently the last 3 weeks. Saturday was the first game we saw a sideline where everybody, coaches and players, were on the same page and mission. If he holds the staff together when this season ends, 2025 is gonna be an interesting Sophomore year for the group. I am thankful for where we are, especially after watching Saturday's performance.
