Ah, Florida - words fail me.

quelle surprise

Florida GOP Chair Christian Ziegler, husband of Moms For Liberty cofounder, accused of sexual assault by alleged menage a trois lover

If you wrote a movie with this plot and gave the character that first name, they’d have to change it because nobody would take it seriously and they’d get protests from the far right.

Last sentence hits the mark.

“The level of hypocrisy in this situation is stunning.”

Last sentence hits the mark.
Well, in reality, it should be - but it’s commonplace now, so much so we’re becoming resigned to the inevitability instead of outraged at the possibility.

Has Desantis given any thought to where he will live after governor term ends and a failed presidential bid? He might not find Florida very welcoming for his career after power base is gone. This guy is an idiot.
Taking away Disney passes from the district employees is gonna win some votes for sure! I can already see the surge in voter turn out now.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A bill proposed by a Democrat in the Florida House could make living as part of a homeowner association more expensive.

Democratic Rep. Kimberly Daniels of Duval County is proposing that not-for-profit corporations that operate residential homeowner associations donate or use at least 15% of the association's total annual income to benefit the community in the county in which it is located.

Shocking.......:D

A Florida Republican's bill aims to silence accusations of racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, or any other allegations of discrimination, making them "defamation" under the law and potentially costing the person who made them up to $35,000 in the state known for its "Don't Say Gay" law.

Seems like most Republican policy ideas originate from the Kremlin these days.

As horrible as Trump is, DeSantis is worse.

Brodeur is also sponsoring a separate bill that would make it easier to sue media for defamation, a proposal that DeSantis has pushed, the AP reported.

Brad Pitt is coming to town to do a racing-themed movie. Pappas Drive-In will be closed for about a week while they do some filming there. This place is an institution here. I stop in sometimes on the way home for some take out after visiting Mom. They have daily specials and Tuesday is Chicken and Dumplings....yum! Got a great burger there too!

I talked to one of the girls on Monday and she said the producer asked for head shots of all the wait staff, then picked out 5, who will be included the days they shoot. She said she didn't get picked and was bummed they won't get any pay for that week. So I gave her double the generous tip I usually leave. :)

The owner will be getting paid for this - I truly hope he does the right thing and shares some of that with his staff!
