The more I read about our new S&C brain trust, the more I wonder why were they still at Indiana? Kudos to Coach Saban. Again.
I keep asking the same question. I love that these guys have been given a big stage to prove themselves and their system on. I think they will be driven to show that their way is one of the best (maybe the best) way(s).That is a big motivator. They will be hungry! The more I read about our new S&C brain trust, the more I wonder why were they still at Indiana? Kudos to Coach Saban. Again.
Played fullback for Indiana and has deep Indiana Roots. The more I read about our new S&C brain trust, the more I wonder why were they still at Indiana? Kudos to Coach Saban. Again.
Shaking things up can't be a bad thing. Fresh ideas and sets of eyes.I believe I saw on the board somewhere that they completely changed the workout regimes and its one of the hardest workout they've had.. compared to SC. I'm not talking about the 4th quarter program. They changed the workouts and I also saw that they let go some of the training assistants under SC and brought some with them from Indiana.
I would be worried if there weren't considerable changes implemented.I believe I saw on the board somewhere that they completely changed the workout regimes and its one of the hardest workout they've had.. compared to SC. I get that. I just can't see how people in the know wouldn't make an offer he can't refuse before Bama came along. There were plenty of openings at both levels this offseason.Played fullback for Indiana and has deep Indiana Roots.
One thing that brought them to Alabama... New sport science facility. Nobody has that.I get that. I just can't see how people in the know wouldn't make an offer he can't refuse before Bama came along. There were plenty of openings at both levels this offseason.
They better be 'Hungry'I keep asking the same question. I love that these guys have been given a big stage to prove themselves and their system on. I think they will be driven to show that their way is one of the best (maybe the best) way(s).That is a big motivator. They will be hungry!
Somehow amongst all the other stuff going on in the world, I missed that.I believe I saw on the board somewhere that they completely changed the workout regimes and its one of the hardest workout they've had.. compared to SC. That's awesome and frustrating at the same time...It's like we're kids that were just given super cool present and we can see it, but we just can't play with it...
Waddle with an extra 2.5 mph?
Guessing that the gains are skewed toward the big guys and LBs. One can hope, though.Waddle with an extra 2.5 mph?![]()
I wonder how much of this has to do with improvements he was able to bring to a place like Indiana. We may not necessarily see big gaudy numbers like this because we've been working within state of the art facilities with state of the art equipment since Saban arrived. I know he'll bring some new concepts and a new focus but I'll be happy with any decrease in injuries and maintaining the level of speed / strength we've had through the years. Anything above this will be a cherry on top!
I don't believe speed was any part of Cochran's goals...I wonder how much of this has to do with improvements he was able to bring to a place like Indiana. That could be true and we've just been blessed with blue chip kids because I've never felt speed was a major weakness for us. The only spot that comes to my mind would be LB. Maybe we can improve here. I think we have been equal or better than most at the skill positions.I don't believe speed was any part of Cochran's goals...![]()
