Alabama players shut out of awards

The guy that won the Groza was 26 of 27 on FG’s and that’s highest made % of kickers with 20 or more made FG’s so it’s not really a conspiracy.

If Will makes all of his kicks he probably wins it.

It is what it is right.

He’s our GOAT Kicker and the All-Time NCAA points leader so I don’t really care about the Groza.
The guy that won it was 35 of 36 on PAT, so he was not perfect there either.

Will's probelm in 2020 was he did n0t have a memorable kick. We blew everyone out that year and for some stupid reason you apparently need a memorable game winner. I think this year was siimilar in that he again did not have a memorable game winner, but who the hell saw Miami, Ohio play?

None of the voters did I bet you!

Yep.

I wanted him to win it and thought he should because all year he's been just CRUSHING really LONG FG's right down the middle.

I thought he had it in the bag until whatever game that was he missed 2 of them to the right.

I feel like they should have taken into account what had to be massive pressure placed on himself to break the NCAA Record.

It's not the NCAA Record for just Kickers.... it's for ALL Positions.... EVER.

But like I say it's hands down the Award given out for the most arbitrary reason. Sometimes it makes sense who they give it to but most of the time the seemingly clear winner doesn't win it.

Our players have a higher bar to cross than other players because they wear crimson. Everyone expects perfection or near-perfection from Alabama players. If other players come close to them, it is a surprise and the other player gets the award. Same reason Coach Saban doesn't have 15 coach of the year awards.

The team is a victim of its own success. It's a byproduct of The Dynasty.
Saban will have an award named for him at some point

Miami had a good season (MAC champs and 11-2 record) but none of their wins were dependent on a late FG.

I wish Reichard had won but individual awards really don’t matter to me. I guess it’s a byproduct of being a fan of a school that aims for a national title every year.
