Initially , thought that call would have benefited us until they tacked one on Sexton. We traded three for two which extended their lead by one....and we were not in any situation to trade points or come out in the negative side on any possession. It's a shame

You are absolutely right. I watched it live on the tube and almost broke my chair when they called a T on Sexton. I generally have thought that particular crew has been pretty good. They talk to B'ham on all of the reviews and I wonder if someone there told them to access one to Sexton as well. If the kid had not poked Sexton in the head there would not have been a foul either way so how can you call a foul on him for walking past the kid and trash talking? If it had been one of Wimp's team, his head would have exploded. I think Coach has to call out the officials some times to protect his kids. The game was over the second they called the T on Sexton so why not get an intentional technical. Wimp would do it at times simply to fire up his team.

I am no Grant fan, but even he got T'd up at Vandy when Clogherty called Greene out of bounds on a call at the end of the game we would have won if not for that bonehead call.. He was so angry, he would have hurt him if the coaches had not held him back.

Wasn't Wimp the reason the coaches box was put onto the court? He was emotional for sure. I think the players and fans would respond to Coach Johnson getting fired up whether it is directed toward the officials or not.

The last time I recall Avery getting a T was against State in 2016. It backfired, though.

The occasional T on a coach can get the crowd and the players motivated and I believe the refs tend to respect a coach more. If my memory is correct CAG also got a T in the AU game in Tuscaloosa his last year. The refs were very one-sided and the team was flat but the T turned everything around. I do think there have been 2-3 times this season that CAJ should have gotten a T to send a message.

The fans used to wait for something to ignite Wimp to go after the refs and then cheer him on. I don't care for coaches who do this except when it is my coach; it was fun to when Wimp did it.
