Hate to bring this up, but did he play this year at ECU? If he did, then that's one year gone. IF he plays JUCO, that's another one, whether he graduates or not. If he comes then, he only has two to play. He probably played at ECU. I hope he doesn't play at JUCO, although that may be a problem, so far as a scholly is concerned. It seems to me that he basically got screwed by both the NCAA and by his coach/adviser...
Those are good questions. I just checked three ECU rosters and one depth chart updated today, and I didn't see his name on any of them.

If he didn't play this year, that would be huge, but you're probably right about him probably having to play at least one year of JUCO ball.

I don't understand. If he was ineligible to play at Bama why wouldn't he be ineligible at ECU?

He's not listed on ECU's 2010 Roster. Hopefully, that's a sign that he didn't play at ECU this season. Anyway, if he were playing with ECU, why would he leave in mid season? That wouldn't make sense.EAST CAROLINA OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE - Football

There were a lot of us asking that same question when the news of the transfer came out. If he didn't show on the roster, he probably didn't lose a year there. Then, if he just plays one year of JUCO, he'll have three for three. He'd really help...

Not discounting Alfy, but make no mistake.

Clowney is a beast!!
True but they are the same type of athlete, and I honestly don't think we'll get Clowney. Having Hill in 2012 means we won't have that missing link...Hill and Clowney are both rare types, big guys with tons of speed and athleticism.

He was quoted today as saying he's made no final decisions as of yet. Still not a done deal I suppose.

Wow, this is a surprise. I was under the impression that he was a bit angry with both the NCAA and Bama when he left and that he would not return. I really hope things work out with him because he was one of the recruits that I thought would end up being a difference maker. This is good news for us.

Just got a tweet from Cecil Hurt that Alfy Hill is "unrecruitable" by other schools if UA still wants him.

Did I read right that a few classes or class was not recognized by the NZAA? Couldnt he go to Hargrave and still keep all 4 years??

If I'm mistaken, sorry!

Has anyone seen anything definitive about whether or not he'll have two or three years of eligibility when he gets to Bama?
He will have three years of eligibility. He had to sit out this season due to the transfer rule with the ncaa.

"Once ruled ineligible, Hill enrolled at East Carolina where he was forced to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules. Hill withdrew from ECU in October because he said he "did not fit in."

Here is the link to the article on Aly Hill.
