madison, al
is a solid white boy. think about this. not all but most programs that make some noise have this working for them.

SEC:
MSU - michal ignerski
Ole Miss - john gunn (not great, but arguably solid)
S.Carolina - chuck edison
Vandy - matt frieji
Auburn - does not BUT adam harrington was more than solid a few years back with chris porter.
Florida - matt walsh, matt bonner, david lee (they almost make up for the teams that lack solid white boys in the SEC)

ACC
Duke - jj redick (one among other greats)
Maryland - steve blake, nick caner-medley
Virginia - todd billet
Wake Forest - vytas danelius

Big 10
Minnesota - rick rickert
Indiana - tom coverdale
Michigan State - adam ballinger

Big 12
Oklahoma - kevin bookout
Kansas - kirk heinrick, nick collison
Texas Tech - robert tomaszek

Big East
Notre Dame - matt carroll, chris thomas*sorta*
Syracuse - gerry mcnamara

Pac 10
Arizona - luke walton
UCLA - jason kapono
Stanford - casey jacobson for the past...dono currently...im sure there is one!
Oregon - luke ridnour, luke jackson, ian crosswhite

WCC
Utah - nich jacobson, marc jackson
BYU - majority of team

Conference USA
Louisville - fransico garcia *pretty close*
Marquette - travis diener

Butler - darnell archey, brandon miller
Creighton - kyle korver

i prolly missed some...but this makes my point. and no not all of these teams made the big dance (all but 7) but these guys are argueably a big contributing factor of their teams' wins. it just seems like great teams of the token white boy in the lineup somewhere...save kentucky and maybe texas.

anyway if you get mad at this and think its absurd you deserve to be upset because im just having fun...but its definately something to think about.

We need boys who can play and shoot, i don't care the color of their skin. Maybe we should start recruiting in Europe, they have some good shooters, and they are white, more or less.....

I don't really care what color he is, but yes we do need a consistent outside shooter who is unselfish with the ball as many of these listed players are. I wish Gottfried had gotten to Georgia commit Jordan Howell earlier; he's truly amazing to watch. He can stroke the three with ease and can also drive and dish. We definitely missed out on him. RTR

That is such a true statement. Look at past teams...Wally Zscerbiak (horrible spelling), Steve Wojohowski (another spelling), Bama liked Travis Stinnet, Scott Padgett for KY, Brian Grouer for Mizzou, Troy Murphy....if I studied up, then I could find more names. My friends and I have been talking about how the best stationary 3 point shooters are white boys and I'm willing to stand by it. Look at Larry Bird or Pete Maravich..what more can I say?

gimme a break man, i was just havin some fun, obviously you omitted the whole last part of my post...lighten up! i could care less what color any player is, as long as we mesh on the court im down. just so happens that more often than not (meaning: this trend does tend to bend a little) youre spot up three point shooters are white boys. BUT NOT ALWAYS...in case you omit that, too. and yes i agree jordan howell would have been great...he went to the same high school i attended and i was fortunate enough to see him play over christmas break. i think we'll be fine in the years to come

No it's not. Actually there's nothing to think about. I think Mark knows whats best for the team.

the young man from Douglas is white (of couse hes white, Sand Mountain) but anyways he should be a great accent to the team next year. But there is talk around here that hes reconsidering coming Bama, who knows, but he is a great basketball player, State 4A player of the year, 2 years in a role and hes a really good natured, well manored young man, he goes to the gym I go to! Roll Tide!

Justin Jonus signed with the tide... he is supposedly a great outside shooter. Meade was a great shooter with the exception of his senior year, but at the end of the season he started to heat up again. I hope Alabama signs a good post player who will draw the double team and free up outside shooters.

RTR!

This is a dangerous post young blood. We will add Justin Jonus and I wouldn't be surprised if Howell signs(atleast AL or AUB). Jonus may give you your solid white boy, but the only white guy I hope is solid is CMG. He'll get it where it needs to be.

I dont know, but I would think if Lang hasn't committed to Bama by now he probably isn't it likely to. He seems on the see-saw alot like G.Wallace was so maybe it's a good thing. He is a monster under the rim and he is big and mobile. He also has a nice touch on his jumpers. The major thing is with Lang at Bama he would be the biggest guy on the block. Noone close, but if he goes to Louisville he'll see some big guys in the USA. He would start day one, much like Erwin Dudley. COME ON JAMES....but you gotta let the big man decide.
