Ozuna needs to go. Yes he is capable of a good season but you are playing with fire in trusting him to consistently produce them.

Sale… dominating when on, but good god he gets hurt at the worst times.

Fried… had a bad year but should be the #1 priority this offseason. But he won’t.

I honestly would rather struggle offensively next year than lose Fried. Because you are effectively forcing Hurston and all the prospects to grow up really fast to help out strider if you don’t keep him. Because you are effectively hoping for a rental that may or may not pan out like Boyd or Sonny Gray and hinging your season on the back end.

I just think stability in the rotation is far more important at this point than finding long ballers in an already built lineup.
Not a Brave fan, but living in metro Atlanta they are hard to ignore. Ozuna carried the team for a long stretch of the season, and Chris Sale had one of his best years in leading the NL in wins, strikeouts and ERA. They will both be back in my opinion. Charlie Morton will probably be back at a discount. Already said he wants to play next year.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Alex trade for Matt Olson before any decision by Freeman's camp had been made?
technically true, however, Freddie's agent had pretty told the Braves to kick rocks. Alex then went and got Olsen. B1GTide is correct, the timing looks weird but the truth is Freddie was not coming. He had an offer and the agent turned it down. From what I have heard, it was all because of one year. Freddie and his agent wanted 6 years and the Braves only offered 5. (or it was 7 and 6 not sure).

No, Freddie was gone. Timing was just a formality
Oh, ok.

Regardless people needs to stop taking it personally when a pro player makes a business decision. Freddie chosing to leave does not erase all the good he did for the Braves.

Freddie will always be a Braves who happen to play for the Dodgers.

Am I not remembering that when Freddie first returned as a Dodger to play in Atlanta, he expressed dissatisfaction with his agent? As in, he'd wished he could stay, and his agent played it so that he had to leave?

Yes, Freddie fired his agent after the fiasco. It is mostly why Dansby was fully involved in his negotiations. Freddie should have been more clear with his agent and his agent should have told him there was a deal on the table. We might not ever know the full truth of what happened.

Braves and Dodgers are enemies. No real Brave could play for the Dodgers. So I question his allegiance to the Braves altogether.

Let's not pretend that this was his only option.

Enemies is abit much, don't you think? I get the intense rivalry, but I will always support players looking out for themselves. Loyalty to a fan base or an organization does not pay the bills.

We are just have to agree to disagree.

According to that article, Braves had to make that offer and it will be rejected. Baseball contract rules, draft rules, offer rules are so confusing to me.

I know it is all about money in the end but d'Arnaud seems way more valuable to me than Ozuna. I hate that he's gone.
