Any updates on Tyrone Prothro?

Makes you wonder how different things would be if he had never been injured.

Possibly an SEC Championship in '05, a 10 win season in '06, and Shula still at the helm in '08? Hmmmm...

well i'm glad all the people saying he will never play again aren't his doctors, if i'm not mistaken drew brees wasn't gonna be able to throw the ball very well anymore look what happened there, you can have a negative opinion but keep it to yourself, what if tyrone is reading this wouldn't be to good for is morale, especially when your opinion is based on nothing more than a limp you saw, being as he just had had another operation on his leg.

Woah, how about a period every now and then?

Commas look a lot cooler! Let us not forget the semicolon!

NOTE: It has a period and a comma in it!

soldier i dont really know what you are trying to get at here are you trying to say that i should be using more semicolons because i dont know if that is really true i think i know when to use one and when not to and are you going to the basketball game to see coach saban introduced that will be pretty cool dont you think i think it will because everyone will be cheering and stuff and it is also an important game against lsu and i just wanted to say it was neat how you were always saying that we would get saban and we finally ended up getting him that was pretty cool and ok well i guess that is it see you later.

No one will know what Prothro will be able to do until he goes through his full rehab. He's probably still in that "shut down" phase where many of the muscles in his leg are still really atrophied. He may never come back to football, but I really doubt he's even close to being done with his recovery process.

I don't think any Alabama fan will ever forget how great Tyrone Prothro was. Even if he never steps into an Alabama uniform again.
Who knows whether he will play again, but believe me, he's going to do anything and everything in his power to be back out there.
Roll Tide

Bama had another great playmaker a few years ago who suffered a similar fate...what was his name? No, he wasn't a linebacker.

I think you might be remembering Marvin Constant, who was a linebacker.

Kerry Goode in the mid-80s blew up a knee. He played again, but was never the same. Members of the OFC (charter member here) still talk about his first half against Boston College and Doug Flutie in Legion Field in 1984.

Craig Sanderson at WR in the early Stallings years had to give up football after a second knee injury.

Tim Castille on this year's team might qualify. It was a shame that, for whatever reason (I've heard a lot of them), he didn't take a redshirt in 2005.

I'm sure I'm leaving out lots of others, but these guys were proven playmakers who either gave up the game or were never themselves after one or more football-related injuries.

saw him tonight at the game actually. hes still on crutches and he had a sock deal on his foot. it looked like it was covering a cast bc his foot if there wasnt a cast his foot was VERY swollen. I have heard from a few guys on the team that is ankle is the size of a coke can soooo take that for what its worth.

Tyrone just had corrective surgery on that leg again and we all hope that he can recover soon, but the question is that if he can medical redshirt again and come back in 08 we will have a very good playmaker coming back. Good luck Tyrone and here's to seeing you on the field soon.
