Anyone familiar with "TnL"?

I'm in the process of upgrading my son's computer to be able to handle his game "Star Wars: Battlefront II". I've upgraded the RAM, CPU, and hard drive, but I don't have an AGP slot on his motherboard. I need a PCI video card that has "TnL" on it (transformation and lighting for 3D). I found a PCI video card on TigerDirect that is 64MB and is built for gaming. It's a GeForce 400. Does that card have TnL on it? Thanks!

If he enjoys playing games a 64mb card isnt the way to go. Some games that are a year old or older cant even run on a 64mb card. I would really think about upgrading to a better card. (To run todays high-end games you really need a powerful system. BF2 needs 1 gig of RAM to run correctly.) I'm saving to build me a gaming system right now. I'm wanting to have at least to be able to run games such as F.E.A.R and BF2.

Hi, I took the liberty to look up what you might be trying to buy at TigerDirect. The only PCI nVidia card I see that they are currently selling is the eVGA GeForce MX 4000. Is this the one? The specs for this video chip is here:
http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce4mx.html

There is a PDF product overview you can download and read. It says that it does support T&L. However, I own a copy of Star Wars Battlefront II. The box, however, under chipset supported specifically says that GeForce 4 MX is excluded. I have no idea why. Personally, I'm using an older GeForce 4600 and it runs just fine.

With regards to video memory, the more memory you have, the higher the resolution and detail you can run. It adds the to the 'eye candy,' giving a more enjoyable experience. But obviously it will run on less.

If you would like to upgrade the card to one that won't have the chipset controversy regarding GeForce 4 MX and use 128mb, I see that TigerDirect sells one very reasonably:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1010678&CatId=697

It is an eVGA GeForce FX 5200 with 128mb and it is a PCI card.
Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas

I love those nvidia cards. I have never once had a problem with them.
