1. Alabama (55) 12-1 1,470
2. LSU (1) 13-1 1,401
3. Okla. St. (4) 12-1 1,376
4. Oregon 12-2 1,228
5. Arkansas 11-2 1,178

What don't those 5 first place votes that go to LSU and OK St. get?

It really is past ridiculous imo. Course, that is why they are the AP....Doesn't really matter now, we still have #14!!!!

well that's 5 writers that should have their votes rescinded. guessing they're all from either LA or Big 12 states

I honestly can understand if someone wanted to vote for LSU based on their regular season. If they played anyone other than us, they win. The 4 votes to OSU are inexcusable and those people should NEVER be allowed to vote again. OSU never played a quality defense (Stanford got blown out by Oregon). OSU needed the help of missed FG's to even get by Stanford (the 2nd or 3rd best team in their own league). I guess it is just the color orange, but OSU is now on my list of teams I can't root for.

I think OSU it walking down a dangerous road with the amount of influence T.Boone Pickens is exerting in that organization. We all know how the Lowder/AU realtionship works.

The voters should consider this.........Okie State scored 38 points against Stanford and then had to go into OT to win the game.

If Alabama scores 38 points against a team, they damn sure won't need an OT to win the game.

Even worse, OSU needed some incredible luck to even win it in OT.

from the AP website...the 2 LA voters

Louisiana Randy Rosetta The Advocate
Louisiana Garland Gillen WWL-TV Channel 4

Do you have a direct link? Do they make the final poll public? I'm trying to figure out the other three who voted Oklahoma State #1

Edit: Nevermind, just saw this tweet from GulfCoastTider:

The four AP voters who put OSU No. 1: Matt Markey, Scott Wolf, Seth Emerson and Steve Conroy. Erik Gee voted LSU No. 1

Great post, mjstide! Thanks for the link. Those who voted for any team other than Alabama in the number one spot should hear from our fans. They should be held accountable for voting irresponsibly. Nice "objective" journalism.

I think the LSU vote is harder to defend than the Okie State vote. We didn't play OSU, so who knows who would have won? I think we would win handily, but of course I'm biased.

We played LSU twice and were clearly the better team over the course of those two games. How could anyone say they should be ranked above us?

I heard on Jock Radio from B'ham earlier today from a guest sports reporter who said the 5 votes were just people who had hostility, or something to that effect. Obviously, they are hostile towards Alabama after witnessing last night's convincing win. Also, I found it strange that the ESPN group of reporters today did not even have Alabama in the top 5 in this coming 12 season after last night's game. Lastly, I saw the press report from the OK ST coach who said we would have thrown the ball 50 times. Even the ESPN reporter said you could have been in the game OKST, if you could have won against Iowa St. HA! Oh well...people have to hate on the winners, I suppose. Anyway, it is still a glorious day to be a Tide Fan, even if people are envious of the program, coaches, and players!
