At some point humans have to realize that if we can't control our reproduction, nature will. There are real limits to the number of people that this planet can support...
Aren't they from Arkansas? I'm not sure that there's a overpopulation problem there. As long as they can support their family, and it seems that they can, more power to them.
We have four children; we've had people act like that's excessive. I do what I need to do to support my family without resorting to illegal means or living on the dole...

If they want to live in the hell it must be to have that many kids under one roof, and he can earn enough to not require any of my tax dollars, I'll keep my opinions out of their bedroom.

But I have to say, as a woman, the mere thought of that many pregnancies and deliveries makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

I agree. I think this family is ridiculous. I've seen portions of that tv show on them, and they are an incredibly creepy family. The kids are completely brainwashed, and the parents are cult-like religious IMHO. If this was a black family we'd have never heard of them.

As far as the gov't regulating number of children, it is inevitable that this will happen eventually.

Interesting take. I've seen the show where they go to church. I've seen that they are home schooled. What, exactly, are you basing this opinion on?

Overpoluation: I know in some countries, like Japan, they are packed like sardines. However, there are thousands and thousands of square miles in the US.

I understand the argument that they have too many kids. I could argue that couples that purposely remain childless are dangerous in that they could make mankind "die out"... :eek2:

You are not thinking this all the way through. Most of the land that remains unpopulated is either inhospitable or protected. But the bigger point - it takes a certain amount of land to support a human being at opitmal health. We have to eat, drink and breathe oxygen. That requires plant and animal life beyond human life. There is only so much land available in the world. Once we go beyond the limit that the earth can sustain, we will start to die off in huge numbers by some natural means that we have no clue about. The country that you live in at the time will not matter...

Is that why we have the famines in Africa now?

Good thing we have millions of abortions. Just think what the Earth would be like without them (or with them, I guess.)
