Amazing Power of Teenagers

... FWIW, thought this was a good read and wanted to pass it on - please forgive this if it has been previously posted

[excerpt]... Verbal commitments are non-binding and college choices don't matter until February.

Tim Tebow and Mitch Mustain may look like men in their football jerseys, but they are still teenage boys underneath.

And teenagers have been known to change their minds from time to time...

Great read

People tend to foget that these are kids making monumental decisions for THEIR futures, not thirtysomethings looking at things from a grown-up perspective. There are some mature ones out there, but most listen to what they want to hear (because people feed them plenty of that), and change with the winds. Didn't we all at one time or another?

And fans sometimes don't realize that A LOT of the times (and I'd go as far to say most of the time) these kids already know before they ever take an "official visit" to any college what school they are going to sign with and are just taking advantage of all the traveling opportunities and media coverage.

A few years back there were a number of pretty high recruits coming out of Shreveport schools that took full advantage of the "star" treatment and to the public made it out to look like other schools were truly in the running when in all actuality they knew from day one where they wanted to go.

One of them told his friend (that I played softball with) from day one which school he would be signing with but he was going to take advantage of the opportunities. He filled these other coaches recruiting him with "bait" to make them think their program had a chance at signing him when they didn't.

THESE ARE KIDS and KIDS do the darndest things.
