On CNN, they just had a clip from where, right after the incident, he's caught by a resident's Ring camera, wanting to borrow a phone to call an Uber. He did the get the phone, but the police arrived first...

There has to be a point at which you look at a lengthy record like his and decide "enough, you've lost your right to be free".
If Wisconsin is anything like Alabama then I'm sure it goes like this...

Everyone is always screaming for folks to be let out on parole or probation, until something bad happens, then they all scream for them to be locked back up. Once the headlines disappear, the cycle repeats.

Yeah - told the resident he was homeless. Resident invited him in, made him a sandwich, and then let him use his phone.

I read he was barefoot when he showed up at the house to borrow a phone.

I bet the prosecutor will not feel the need to make an issue out of whether his toenails were groomed.

Amazing how fast this story disappeared in the national news. If you read the headlines, it makes it sound like a car killed and maimed all these people vs a lunatic driving a vehicle doing it.
I don't think it has disappeared as much as there are no new developments. There's no news in repetition.

We have an overload of mass killings to keep abreast of every development in each case. Today, we hear about a guy who bought a semi automatic handgun last week...yesterday his son took it to class and shot the place up, with bodies everywhere.

20 shots, 11 hits, 3 fatals, all within a few seconds on a few days practice...

I had assumed the boy found the gun in a drawer...did the father take his son out for practice shooting in the time between buying the gun and it getting carried to school? Somehow that seems to make it worse.
