Abraham Lincoln once said, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Apparently this "kid" doesn't know this saying as apparently playing football is his second favorite sport, only behind running his mouth.

I think that quote is more often attributed to Mark Twain. We agree on Zeke, though. :biggrin2:
After googling it, I think the quote has been attributed to both guys.

I play music and am a singer/songwriter. That is the only reason I have a Facebook/ Twitter account. At 17 I joined the marines with my mother and father signature so I could join. I did not leave for boot camp until I was 18. When I was 17/18 I knew right from wrong. I also knew how to behave myself. This young man is 17 and will probably will be 18 in a year or less. There are 18 year old men over seas fighting and putting their lives on the line for this country. This young football player, highly rated or not, should have enough home training to know how to behave himself!

Absolutely correct in my opinion. Granted, I'm an old codger now but I was held responsible for may actions when I was 16. At that point on, my father told me that I was old enough to know that my actioins determined the reaction and consequences of such actions. His favorite saying was "don't let your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird @ss". I have three grown children and at no time in their life would they think about doing what Pike is doing, they may think it but they don't say it unless it's to a chosen few in private. I for one, am tired of hearing their just 17 or 18 year old kids when it come to this type of stuff. Whip his arse and tell him to send down and shut up. By the way, those are probably just 17 and 18 year old kids looting in England also.

Yeah, the kid should learn some manners. But he is a barner, (maybe not officially, but at least in his mind,) so what do you expect?
Talk is cheap. After he's been knocked on his keister a few dozen times by players from other SEC teams, he'll eventually learn his lesson.
Otoh, with him being a barner, he might not.

Why on Earth are people sending messages to a 17 year old high school kid? I am on Twitter and I don't follow any one under 21

Great question and gets into another argument as well. Remember what Brent Calloway and Cyrus went through from *U fans. I do not get the whole thing with befriending recruits or players on Facebook or Twitter when you are a grown man or woman. It is similar to the actions of the owner of T-Towns Menswear in wanting to be associated with Bama football players. It did seem as though Cyrus nor Brent got into the mudslinging that this kid has gotten himself into.

I think it's less of a young kid thing and more of a "internet" thing. The past how ever many years this kid has been on the internet, no one knew who he was, so it didn't matter if he said something offensive on the internet. Now that everyone knows who he is, he's going to have to learn to adjust his behavior. If you look at any comments section after any article online, you see plenty of people who will spout their mouth off thanks to the anonymity of the internet.

What Zeke has yet to realize is that he doesn't have the anonymity of the internet anymore. People know who he is.

Congrats Zeke. You are officially an Aubrens man now and part of the fambly. And don't think that sociology degree won't open some doors for you down the line.

I would'nt think running your'e mouth about a state rival before you've even taken a snap in the sec? that doesn't sound to wise. He may set himself up for a few hard hits from bama players saying "welcome to the sec":biggrin2:

Wow, what a jack .... You guys should save all those tweets and give them to the players so they can go out and smack that leather jacket off Chizik's back (which should be well rested as he rode Cam Newton's/Malzahn for a year).

Every opponent head coach is going to love this "kid" (high school and college). What more motivation does your team need once the coach begins posting all these tweets on the locker room walls. I allready want to blitz him and put him on the ground.
