Guys.. All Orange is our normal dress for just about every game. Let's not get all excited about nothing. "All Auburn. All Orange" has been going on since Tubbs instituted it. Nothing to see here. Move on.
I was talking to a friend in the athletic department at Penn State last week. He told me something that had not occurred to me until that moment. Events like this are timed to coincide with emotional games, and are really driven by a desire to sell merchandise. He said that Penn State had their "white out" this year against Iowa, not to pull the fans together, but to make $$$$. (Iowa has owned Penn State for a while, and the fans/students there hate Iowa).
Kinda took the magic out of it for me... :conf3:
Well, it is hunting season.
Never thought about that. Makes a lot of sense and probably is the real reason. But in The Barns case I would rather think that after the coaches has spent hours reviewing tape of Bama's defense they are awe struck and girdled with fear of what our defense could do to their offense. So what they do is to surround their team in the safety of their beloved orange in hopes the treat will go away. But in so doing they just reinforce their fear of the inevitable. Does that restore the magic for you?![]()
