Porsche to return to Le Mans 24 Hours with LMDh prototype from 2023
The German manufacturer has been given board approval to develop a car for the LMP2-based LMDh hybrid category, which it revealed was under evaluation by its motorsport department back in March.
Pascal Zurlinden, head of factory motorsport at Porsche, confirmed that the marque is "intending to run in both championships with a full commitment", starting with the Daytona 24 Hours in January 2023. He described its commitment to the category as "open ended".
The decision means that Porsche will have been absent from the top class at Le Mans for five years following the end of the 919 Hybrid LMP1 programme in 2017.
The news from Porsche follows the announcement that sister marque Audi is also developing an LMDh prototype and brings the total number of major manufacturers committed to Le Mans for 2023 to four, with Toyota and Peugeot competing with Le Mans Hypercars.

Winter in Wolfsburg. Cars are driven on at the top, and they are then slowly moved down to the staging area outside the final assembly hall. Close to the bottom of the conveyor ramp, a driver gets into the car, starts the engine and drives it to the parking spot with the others.
Greaaaat news. Sad to say the LMP1 is going the way of the Dodo Bird. Costs as much as a third world country.Well, this is exciting!!! And Audi doing the same!

More like a transformation. LT4 w/8 speed auto. Pro touring front clip, Tri 4 link rear. Vintage air, digital instrumentation, etc.LOL....I was close!

After a Covid shutdown and the Holidays, we are here with my Ftype! Maybe early February I will enjoy top down excitement again! 
Back together, but an occasional misfire on 4-5 has delayed my enjoyment. Hopefully a coil pack change will correct the misfire!
Lesson learned, I'm sure - but this is why I always engage my e-brake when parking - even on flat ground. Also taught my kiddos to do the same.
And we are off! I put 100 miles on it today! Swapped out the crank pulley and went with a VAP tune, bumped output to 650 HP at the crank!So far , so good!

Loved my bugs. First car I ever owned was a '59 white VW bug, 6 volt system. Bought a new '71 a few years later. About $2300. White with a blue interior. Great little cars.
The last Käfer made in Wolfsburg. 1st July, 1974. Brazil keep producing them until 86, and then 93-96 and Mexico until 2003.
