My Father owned a Shell station and I worked there when I was in school. Check the oil, cleaned the windows and checked tire pressure.
My grandfather also owned a Shell station, and I worked a few summers there at the pumps. It was pretty cool.

I had a second job working at the local Amoco while I was teaching school. Worked on weekends mostly. Strange thinking back to the days when people had someone pump gas for them. Seems like so long ago. For me that was 40 years so I guess it is.

Back to VW's......:)

A kaleidoscope of Bugs, Buses and Ghias on the quayside at Hamburg ready for export.

They call Hamburg "The Big Apple"! ;)

Check out the transporters, single/double cab pickups, and DoKa's...all brand new!

I don't know about any other states but in New Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas.

Did you enjoy washing windshields when a summertime babe was driving or sitting in the front passenger seat?

There's a nice '70 Volvo 145S on BAT right now:

If I hadn't bought my 850, I would be interested.

I'll buy another 145S one day but this just isn't the right time.

1970 Volvo 145S
Auction ended yesterday. She ended up going for $14K and change. I paid less than $2K for mine back in '05 from eBay. Pretty much the same car. That's the difference between a BaT auction and an eBay auction.

Love the truck, but the other cars are ugly (IMO). But I agree that today's cars are very bland.
