Bama 02-03

At the football scrimmage on Saturday I sat with Brian Passink and Coach Pearson. They told me that the freshmen are about two years ahead of where they thought we would be. Chuck Davis is a force and Evan Brock can jump out of Coleman. Coach said that Kennedy is dominating everyone. He said last year Lucky Williams would shut down Hot Rod every practice but Kennedy is unguardable. If you give him any room he will bust a jumper in your eye and if you back off he will take you to the hoop(he is also a good passer). I got the coaches word that Kennedy will be starting. Get ready because the Tide is gonna roll. If you have any questions I will try to answer them.

ROLL TIDE

hey trb, was there any mention of Emmitt Thomas? I find it hard to beleive that KW is dominating. He must have bulked up since last season. The Thomas kid has some experience having played at USA. When last I saw Winston, he was rail thin and a little timid.

What's you guy's opinion of Chuck Davis? Is he really an inside force to be reckoned with, or this year's Reggie Rambo.

Will get a little p.t. but not in any meaningfull game.

I hope he's dominating, because we really need help and depth on the inside, but I've heard the pre-season song and dance before. Everybody's an all-star in the pre-season.

"I thought it was very creative how the tsttn professor justified the walking class by stating there was "a relatively high percentage of obesity in Tennessee."

Well, it has come to our attention now that there is "a relatively high percentage of stupidity" on their football team since some of them can't even PASS the walking class...

LOL, porkchop. Very good point. Kind of like going to a NASCAR race. All of the cars look great on the starting line.

IMO, this will be the deepest Bama team since CMG's arrival. If you're a top 10 team and in the hunt for the NC (which Bama is), I just don't think you can over emphasize the importance of depth. Look at the great teams of the past decade, maybe Duke, Kansas, or UNC (not last year, LOL). They all were very deep. The current national champ, Maryland, was 8-9 deep. Therefore, I believe our depth will more than compensate for the loss of Rod.

With the exception of Winston, who could contend for a starting role by mid season, I think CMG is looking to the new faces for quality minutes (6-8 being max) rather than quantity.

It's kind of hard to guage from the summer, unorganized workouts. But, I'm hearing that Brock has been a very pleasant surprise and Davis has a good bit to learn. Of course, the most attention will be on Ken Winston. However, Lucky Williams is the player I am really looking at. Lucky has a tremendous upside.

Whew, started out to just add my .02. Looks more like I dropped in about 5.99.

I think we'll have some fun on the bball board this season. Certianly have some very knowledgable posters (not including me in that).

I love BAMA basketball even more than the funny looking ball.

This year is gonna be fun, I'm gonna drive from Huntsville every chance I get!

I can't wait for this season to start. I'm anxious to see what Mo is gonna do when he plays Hollis Price. And I know this is WAY WAY down the road, but I can't wait to go to the Bama/UT game when it is in Knoxville, considering I'll get in free, because I'll be a student there, but there is no doubt that I'll be DECKED in Crimson!!

ROLL TIDE!!!!
