Bama Coordinator Search Thread

Some have mentioned the delayed releases from UA on the hires. Case in point - Dan Enos. We've yet to hear a word from UA about it.

QB recruit Brock Purdy gives us proof Enos is on staff:

I wonder if we have an agreement with the schools the coaches are coming from to not announce the transition until after signing day. Can't really think of another reason why Saban would wait on announcing the changes..

I wonder if it's a University vetting issue that takes a few days or a week or two? No doubt they are "on the job" as evidence of Enos being in the pic with Purdy, but contractually, it may not be "University official" so to speak. Many head coaches work for months before the contract is signed.

Hate that Enos ended up in the division. He's a good coach. Our 2015 offense was as good as any of Petrino's. The terrible OL the past few years really limited him.

Thanks for the note. Maybe we should just shut the board down until April. 

Also need to implement a three-deep chart for an individual poster's credibility on pertinent off-season issues. With the contingency that "spring training use" of this depth chart could lead to in-season adoption...

Agreed. Arkansas was surprisingly bad on the OL considering that was Bielema's specialty at Wisconsin. Alabama's offensive line is elite, so I'm excited to see what he can do in Tuscaloosa.

IIRC, Gattis was announced as CO-OC/WR right? With Locksley, already having the CO-OC title from last season (and no new announcement) and now Enos on staff, I wonder is CNS is still sorting out who will be the playcaller?

I dont know if anything's changed but I thought I read the other day that the co OC tag had not been officially given to Gattis , with the hiring of Enos it would look like at least on the surface that he would have some offensive input but it will be interesting to know all of the roles and to what level they extend.RTR

Nope. Gattis was announced solely as WR coach last week.

The expectation when he was hired was he would be co-OC. That does not appear to be the case judging by UA's announcement.

I have seen so much about Locksley to OC, but I wonder if the arrival of Enos could mean that the Locksley rumor was premature? Enos seems to do more of what I think Coach Saban prefers anyway. Not that I want anything to change from Locksley, but I could see it going another way now.

As for the university vetting causing the holdup on announcements, I wouldn't think that would be required with Locksley, since he was already on staff, correct?

Locks has not been formally announced as OC by UA. He didn't have to be, though. He was already co-OC.

This is the coaching staff listed on the website. Notice, Tosh is listed as co-DC, but there has still not been an announcement from UA on him, either.

I like having all of their phone numbers so I can call and give them some ideas on what to do each week.

I hope you like telling a freshman administrative assistant student employee about your gameplan suggestions

Who else would you tell but somebody who's on a full Gameplan Whisperer Scholarship awarded by the Jennings Bryan "Ears" Whitworth School of Listening Frequency?

Just because I don't know where else to put this and I know a lot of you here are Titans fans. Well, you guys just got a great OC. Matt LeFleur is going to do wonders for Mariota and Derrick Henry.

Yes he will, and as a falcons fan, I am not very happy because he is who I want running ATL’s offense, NOT SARK!

So, do we still have openings for an on-field / off-field staff and do we have any speculations of who if so? Also, are we assuming Tosh will be DC with Pete Golding being Co - DC?
