It wasn't unclear at that point...Refresh my memory: But why were were going hurry up when it was unclear if we had first down or not?
The staff is responsible for the officiating error!?!The Bama staff is 100% responsible for the officiating error last week, somehow we have not learned, NEVER TRUST THE SEC. The University of Alabama must oversee, confirm and verify every action taken by the SEC as they have never dealt fairly or honestly with us. If this "error" had happened against Ole Miss we would have had a major investigation this week. Sorry for bringing up old battle scars but I can never forgive the SEC or their refs due to their track record.
I understand all that, but there was a game going on and the offensive staff has got to deal with a play clock, getting the play in and getting the snap before the clock runs out.The Bama staff is 100% responsible for the officiating error last week, somehow we have not learned, NEVER TRUST THE SEC. My point is not about this game or the officials in particular but that the SEC have never looked after Alabama. It has looked after Georgia, it has looked after Auburn and the league spent 30 years protecting Tennessee but given an opportunity the SEC will leave Bama high and dry.The staff is responsible for the officiating error!?!
Facepalm...
So what is your take on the Uthug game last year?
At what point should the officials be responsible for their errors?![]()
Your point was conveyed poorly....My point is not about this game or the officials in particular but that the SEC have never looked after Alabama. It has looked after Georgia, it has looked after Auburn and the league spent 30 years protecting Tennessee but given an opportunity the SEC will leave Bama high and dry.
I just had the mental image of the play clock counting down while the Alabama staff was debating whether the officials should have made it clear Bama had earned a first down.My point is not about this game or the officials in particular but that the SEC have never looked after Alabama. Gahhhh, i've said the same thing so many times. Just go back to Jam Miller (I think) and his targeting disqualification. The number of identical tackles i see every weekend that aren't even thought about being looked at twice...but a bama player makes a heckuva tackle..."CHECK FOR TARGETING!".They review every friggin' thing all the time for everybody else. They can't take 2 minutes (or the 10 min norm) to review what might be a scoring play? It's so stupid it make me think there are some insidious happenings.
So much is reviewed for so long so many times for so many things that are so non-meaningful. Yet, for a score or possible score with some question about it, they're going to just say "nothing to see here, move along."
It's beyond the pale for me. Yet there's nothing I can do. It's unacceptable yet non-correctable by anyone except the commish (or whoever holds the power to do so). Somebody needs to take accountability.
That would be one Greg SankeyWhoever is in charge of SEC Officiating needs to be replaced...![]()
Ultimately, yes. That would be one Greg Sankey
Oh I was serious when I said Sankey. The buck stops with him on this. It is one of the things about his tenure that I am greatly displeased with, and one of the biggest reasons I actually don't like him as commissioner.Ultimately, yes.
But who is his underling in charge of that department?![]()
