Keep in mind along with the name change from ESPN360 to ESPN3, the service changed technologies and now offers a higher picture quality. I watched a few World Cup games on ESPN3 and it came through really crisp. If your bandwidth drops though so does the picture quality. We'll see how it does when a whole lot more people are hitting the site during College Football season.
Yes, I watched some Bama baseball games on ESPN3, and the quality was good, on my 20" flat screen monitor.I have a sound system for my 'puter and that helps also.

Thanks. Just my luck. I am changing from Dish Network to Comcast Cable on 9/8. Almost positive Comcast has ESPN3 but Dish does not.

Soooo.... looks like i will have to buy it from probably ESPN Gameplan (am in atlanta).

Thanks again.

PS- is ESPN3 shown on your computer monitor?
That's for TV right. Who are you using for Internet? The ISP's are the ones that have to deals with ESPN to show ESPN3 not the TV providers.

If your ISP is listed here then you have espn3

It's confusing. Last year my ISP didn't provide ESPN360. This year apparently they do provide ESPN3. I have DirectTV, but my ISP provider is the local cable company, and they may black the ESPN3 out because they will offer the SJST. game on PPV (to cable subscribers, not me).

Favored by 40 points, I'll not pay to see it. Radio's fine, if that's all I get.

I have U-Verse and my plans are to use my MacBook Pro to play the game via ESPN3 online over my 50inch Samsung TV. I have done this in the past and it provides one killer picture!
Do you need any converter boxes or cables to hook your computer to the TV?

We do, but our TV is about 5 or 6 years old (doesn't have a digital ATSC tuner like all new TVs now have) and we don't have cable. We need a converter box to switch the VGA signal from the computer to NTSC so we can watch it on the TV. It works great, but it would be better if we didn't have to mess with all the cables to hook it all up.

Yikes, I just watched some streaming stuff just on my 20" monitor and it looked atrocious...

I'm admittedly sensitive to distortion from data compression, but man, there's a zero percent chance this would look good on my 55" Samsung.

Well, I have DishTV, and when I search their website for Alabama Football I get no listing for the game. Maybe ESPN has not put it on the schedule yet....:conf2:
I've had Dish for several years and have always been able to watch PPV games. I just highlight it in the guide and order it via the remote on gameday...never had a problem. It may already be listed in the guide as I think it's ten days in advance...it's always been somewhere in the 450 channel range.

I am counting on purchasing it via DirecTv as I did last year for a single game PPV not carried by ESPN GAMEPLAN. I don't think you can purchase in advance to the day of the game, however.

Anybody got any information about DirecTV?

In past years, PPV games have been replayed late-night or the next day. Since I attend all the games, I have simply DVR'd the replay so I don't have to pay for the PPV.

Does anyone know whether this will be the case this season? Will the PPV be replayed later?

All this high tech, computer geek talk confuses me. Can someone tell me in a nutshell what a computer illiterate country boy has to do to watch the Bama/SJSU game on the computer??? Keep it simple;)

Check the link I posted before. If your internet provider is listed, go to espn3.com. All you have to do it find the listing for the BAMA game and click to watch.

Ok, now I'm confused. PPV for TV, but if you have access to ESPN3.com (the old 360) you can watch via on-line. Is that about it?

I was planning on getting the game through ESPN 360 or something similar, then hooking it up to the TV to watch. Hopefully that works. Good thing that several of our games this year will be national broadcasts and this won't be an issue.

PPV for TV,ESPN3.com if your IP carries it. The espn360 package on Direct TV, Dish, or cable provider for a season including virtually all college games (not blacked out) , at a pretty big price. But after all the rest of the Bama games will be on TV. Worse case scenario find

and listen to it.

This is driving me crazy. I live in Pensacola, FL and can check with Cox and see every other game available (everything from LSU down to Vanderbilt) on that day except for this one. I just want to know if it'll be on PPV in this area. I have ESPN3 and can hook up one of the laptops to the TV but I'd rather not do that since streaming video never looks as nice on the 42inch.
