I find that funny because they were ridiculously obnoxious on FB last year after the 'you know what' play. It made cleaning up my friends list real easy.

I lost one friend face to face when they yelled 'Got a Second?' right in my face. I've tried very hard over the years to take the game less and less serious because I am passionate to a fault....but AU fans make it tough. I should have walked away....sadly I didn't.

Now I seriously have a 'no AU friends rule'. There may be some decent ones that are good people that can win with grace but I've not met one in person.

I I realized I have way too many FB "friends" that are AU fans. All said about the same thing after the game.

Exactly, they can't take what they dish out. All year they have been saying the "got a second" crap. But how dare we even mention 55-44. :eek2:

Oh well 55-44 Auburn...enjoy the Music City bowl. :cool2:

My facebook post Saturday night said something to the effect that I was glad the good guys won. I had 2 comments from barner friends this afternoon saying they are ALL good guys. Mind you, one of the people who commented never comments on ANYTHING else I post. I replied that yes, they ARE all good guys, but I'm sure they knew what I meant, and that as a Bama fan, I naturally think "my guys" are better, and I would expect them to feel the same way about "their guys." What I WANTED to say was suck it up buttercup, and stop being so thin skinned.

yep.

Also I work with 3 Barn Grads. All I did this morning is say Roll Tide! and one laughed it off and said good luck Saturday. another just told me to hush and then complained about their now fired DC, the third just grumbled but she is an annoying word I can't say.

Yeah about the same here. The only thing I can add is that I know a few that preordered SECCG tix when the first CPC rankings came out are now buying Mizzou attire for the game this Saturday.

It's inverted for me. Everybody in my department pulls for Bama but me. Been pretty good natured so far.

Of course, I'm not the sort to repeat "Got a second? I want to run something by you." ad nauseum, so not much payback to be had. :biggrin2:

I've always been the type of 'Bama fan that never made any remark following an IB win to an AU fan other than 'Good game man...I hope you guys do well in your Bowl'....and I honestly meant it for the longest time.

The rivalry has become so venomous now. Where things really changed for me was when Turberville started rubbing the win streak in our faces and the fanbase accepted it and ran with it....It started win the 4th win if I remember right.

Every year it was 4,5, then 6 fingers being shoved in our faces. Hate began to infiltrate me and it's not really dissipated much. I have no problem admitting that streak still is under my skin because of how the majority of AU fans acted when I was always a good sport towards them. I will never be able to lay it to rest until we can someday tie the streak or surpass it.

I wish we would just end the series or shift AU to the east and only play on rotation. It's a nasty nasty rivalry now and I don't even enjoy the wins I just feel relieved to have not lost.

You seem like one of the good ones....but I just have not met a civil AU fan live in person who can win and be humble about it.

I understand. My Facebook is lit up like a Christmas tree. I have some really insufferable friends and family when it comes to football. I don't let it bother me, though. It's just football. Still, it's too bad that so many people take it as seriously as they do.

Oh, and y'all do own the longest streak in the series. Just whip that out whenever somebody brings up the 6 in a row. ;)

I have brought that up, and I was told Bama fans need to stop living in the past. Wha???? Isn't bringing up the 6 in a row living in the past? All I can do with people like that is smh.

I like to show my class. When Bama beats Auburn, I live by the 24 hour rule. That is, 24 hours a day, 365 days, of pure enjoyment! RTR! Hey Auburn, got a second......half that is!

The more I think about this game, the more I think that Auburn, after the A&M loss, just phoned it in until the IB because they were totally focused on us. All hopes of the SECCG were gone, so they focused on ruining Bama's season with even more intensity than usual. They gave it everything they had, which explains the high offensive numbers, but Bama withstood everything Auburn could throw at them. While every team has the Bama game circled on their schedule, Auburn lives and breathes beating Bama. It says a lot about this Bama team that they could overcome such an onslaught of emotion thrown at them and continue to take care of business by taking charge of the game in the second half.
