With only a few games remaining until the playoffs, how do the pros look at a Bama Clemson NCG?
If we get by LSU, and we will, we will be sort of sliding into the SEC CG, and from there to the NCG. Clemson has had closer game(s) than we have with competition not any better than what we have faced. So, at this point in the season, what are our chances vs. Clemson?
My guess right now would be 45-10 Bama.

Well their defense is number one in scoring defense and I think number 3 in first downs defense. However they are 21 in passing yards allowed. That's not too bad but it's the weakest point in their defense. With Tua at qb you do not want the week point of your defense to be passing. He would have a good day against their secondary.

Clemson is basically the same team Jalen beat 24-6. Tua will beat them 48-12.
Clemson is better than last season because of Trevor Lawrence. He gives them the passing dynamic they didn't have with Kelly Bryant. Right now I'd say Bama would be no more than a 7 point favorite since Sagarin only shows a difference of 4 points. Of all possible playoff opponents I think Clemson would definitely be the toughest test.

Not positive Clemson makes it that far LOL. To early to talk NC match ups.

I think this thread is coming way too early, but just to let you in on a little secret.... talked to a bunch of oddsmakers and they generally agree that only two teams in the nation would be single digit dogs to Alabama. Clemson is the lowest at around 3.5-5.5, and Oklahoma would be anywhere from a 6.5-7.5. Point is Clemson may be a lot better than what most here are willing to believe.

It doesn't mean that Clemson is better - it just means that betters think that Clemson is better. ;)

No, but with a healthy Trevor Lawerence they are one of the best teams in the nation. I think too much is put on the aTm game (with Kelly Bryant) and the Syracuse game when Lawerence got hurt. But its a night and day difference between Lawerence and Bryant. Clemson is probably one of the few teams capable of keeping pace with Bama.

Could? Sure. But Alabama has better players at pretty much every position. I really don't think that it would be close.

I think this thread is a bit early, but I do think Clemson will make the top 4 easily due to their schedule.

Right now Bama just needs to beat LSU first. Then everyone else, then UGA/Kentucky.

Next year the Heisman will probably be between Tua and Trevor Lawrence. I think Trevor Lawrence has made this year's Clemson team much better on offense. I knew from watching him here locally on TV (high school) that he would be something special. Tua is better overall, but Trevor is very good too.

Off the top of my head I would say something like 42-31. Point is I think of the possible matchups they would be probably the best team.

But again its too early to say.

And, most importantly, Lawrence throw s the ball 61 miles per hour!

I was thinking 56-35, but I'm probably not giving their defense enough credit.

I do think they are a better team now with Lawrence, and I didn't when the decision was made. I still say they lose to A&M without Bryant's leadership, and Clemson's schedule has gotten progressively easier since then, but there isn't any denying Lawrence's passing ability.

But it is too early and frankly, I hope someone else is waiting for us at the end, if we are fortunate enough to make it. Not out of fear, but boredom. I'm tired of facing off with Clemson at this point.
