Im curious, what specifically have you seen from the SEC teams that make you think they are just mediocre?

IU also needed a miracle catch to avoid losing to a 6-6 team so they better be ready too.

This might not be the perfect 1:1 comparison but IU is imo similar to 2008-2009 Bama.

Not the most talented yet but a hard nose no nonsense coach quickly turned them around and has them playing at a high level with discipline and defined roles.

We are sort of the ‘08-‘09 Florida with more talent but less discipline and possibly not as well coached.

We win if it goes like the ‘08 SECCG where both teams trade some blows but the other QB (Tebow/Simpson) makes more late clutch plays to pull away.

We lose if IU plays a perfect game like ‘09 Bama in the SECCG.

(Btw I hate that IU is Bama on this example but it is what it is)

RW though is broken. He ain’t helping us.

We live or die with Germie, Brooks, Horton, and Cuevas making plays.

A debate could be made about RW’s is this or that with the ball in his hands with nobody around but it’s irrelevant when he can’t catch and is scared of contact. IU will make contact.

Like all skilled, sensible offensive players with the ball in their hands, they wisely seek to avoid contact because their objective is to move the ball toward the end zone, not prove how tough they are. There are a few exceptions: e.g., Glenn Coffee, Josh Jacobs, et al.

I’m not being patronizing, just stating the obvious, which you and all TF readers know. It occasionally needs to be done.

Alabama has played s every very good defenses down the stretch with mounting injuries. I expect as the health of the team improves they have to perform better because Alabama has played against top 20 defenses at least 5 or 6 times this year. That experience should pay dividends in the post season.

This isn't a spar board, so I won't, but I'll give you this piece of friendly advice since you are new. 3 things....

Your first mistake is to equate Bama fans on social media with our "TideFans" board. Most of us (except the new ones) have been here a long, long time and came here because we tried other sports boards that didn't have the quality of posters you'll find here (if you are really open-minded). The unspoken rule here is: "It's not what you say, but it's how you say it."

Second, you might better check your facts about the SEC. There are plenty of stats/deep dives on this board. What you'll find is your conference isn't as ferocious as you apparently think. Seems like the B1G 2.5. But hey, you are one of them, at least for now.

Finally, there's a difference in a blueblood and newblood. Learn the difference. Typically, most all here act like they've been there...because we have. And if you'll check recent posts, almost everyone here is giving "Indy" (it's slang for your state just like folks call us "Bama") a lot of respect and admitting you're a very good, well-coached team. Also, we know we'll have to play a great game to win, but we also like our matchup too!

Many things point to Indiana on NYD. Heisman Trophy, victory over Ohio State, #1 ranking, etc. That said' there is someting that many media pundits seem to have forgotten. Do they not know who we are?
