after Austin committed to Bama, a prominent MSU booster contributed $50K to his church in York, Alabam. His academic situation was better known. He decided to opt for the draft, withdrew from school, moved, I think, to Texas and worked out with a coach - then changed his mind, came back to school, and, although a marginal student, made up a tremendous amount of academic ground in the summer to become eligible again. I'm probably fuzzy on the details, but that's the main frame of it. We may make a "face-saving" move on the Sharpe situation tomorrow, but I can't say anything about it right now...
To say the least, there are some striking similarities between Lang and his high school coach, Maurice Ford.
Where the University goes from here (IE: SEC/NCAA) is still left to be determined.
