Basketball tournament expanding to 76 teams

This is about $$$ for the bigger conferences. What they should do instead IMO is to decrease the number of automatic conference winners and keep it at 68. Just like in football, teams outside of the big conferences have little to no chance at winning it all.

so to get to 64 from 76, you have 12 play in games right? 12 winners/12 losers gets you to 64. Are they split between 15/16 seeds and 11/12 seeds?

no idea what they are doing. I can count on one hand the number of play-in games I have watched. Things will not change for me, so it doesn't matter what they do.

Especially if Alabama wasn't in the tournament - I'm at that point w/all of my sports rooting interests. If my team isn't playing, I don't have the time/bandwidth/passion to watch other teams, even rivals.
