Beating conference champion for national championship

I mentioned this in one of the playoff threads last week, but Alabama is the only team in history that had ever beaten their conference champion for the national championship (2011). We have now repeated that accomplishment tonight and will probably be the only team that will ever do it.

UCF has already claimed the national championship so the most you can say is we are the champions in Georgia.
