Ask yourself this, if Georgia , UT and LSU were really top ten teams, why do they each have 2 losses?

LSU and TENN suck, they almost let us beat them and we can't pass. If I was a voter those stats would sway me towards OK, but then again I'm swayed easily.

Auburn has not played anybody with a good defense yet.

If you look very close at Auburn's schedule you will
clearly see that Auburn's offense has not been tested
by a team with a good defense.

If Auburn gets to play for the national championship
why then they will have to play either USC or Oklahoma
and both of those teams have a defense that will stop
Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown from running altogether.

I'm not stupid and ignorant enough to vote for Auburn to
be No.2 in the country and in further more Auburn is so
far over rated it's not funny and their schedule clear
explains why. :biga2:

Who cares? If Auburn beats Bama and wins the SEC CG, they will be at least number 2. And they should be. Any team that goes undefeated in the SEC deserves a shot at the NC over any team in any other conference, including the Big 12...

AU vs good defenses

I would consider LSU's defense to be pretty good (AU only scored 10 pts). Georgia's is not slouch either.... OU defense has given up quite a bit this year.... I'm not sure AU's defense has played an offense like OU or USC. If AU beat the Tide (another pretty good defense) and the SECCG then I think they deserve a shot as much as anyone else.. OU got into the game last year when they should not have so if they they get screwed it would be evening things out.... With all that said, if we could just upset them next week it will all be a moot point.

I can't stand them but Auburn in my opinion is the best college team in the nation. They should easily win next week against Bama and mop the Georgia Dome with Tennessee or whoever they play. They will then be 12-0 and will have beaten the best the SEC has thrown at them. Compairing non conference opponents: Oklahoma has beaten Houston, a team UAB easily beat last night 20-7, and division 1AA Bowling Green. The Big 12 this year was nothing to write home about. Auburn will deserve to be number 1 or 2 after the SECC game.

Any team that can go undefeated in the SEC, especially considering we have a championship game that adds one tough game to the normal schedule, deserves to play in the NC game. Period. And even aside from that, Auburn has played better and looks better than Oklahoma. I havent seen USC play enough to decide that one. But Im afraid Auburn is about to get a major raw deal. I hope that Bama can end the controversy next week, but I dont see it happening.
And for people that question how strong the SEC is overall (as in number of good teams), remember that FOUR DIFFERENT TEAMS have one the NC from the SEC from the nineties to now. And now a fifth team is a major contender, and Georgia is nearly there too. Thats six teams that are or were national contenders in very recent history!!!!! What other conference can claim that? NONE. And now Auburn is probably about to go undefeated in that conference.

Hell, if Oklahoma played the weak schedule that Auburn has they would look dominatimg on defense also. And for whoever said that Bowling Green was a Div. II team think again. Bowling Green is not only in Div I but also is in the top 25.
I do think that Southern Cow should be ranked #2 but that is with Southern Cal at #3. Southern Cal has played a weaker schedule than both OU and Southern Cow and has had a tough time with weak opponents like Oregon State, Stanford and Oregon. USC has only one impressive win against a top team, Arizona State.

Bebes, Again look at their schedule and compare it to OU's. They had better had only one close game. Ou, 5 top 25 teams, Southern Cow three top 25 teams. Southern Cal, three top 25 teams. The difference is Southern Cal has struggled more than Southern Cow and OU against lesser opponents.
1. OU (strength of schedule gives them the edge over AU)
2. Southern Cow
3. Southern Cal.

I agree that a team from the Big 12 should go ahead of a team from the PAC, but many of the Big 12 teams that OU has beaten (barely, in a few cases) are overrated. As long as an undefeated SEC team gets a shot at the title, I'll be satisfied. If any team makes it through the SEC undefeated and is not in the top 2 (like last year), I get ****ed...

I feel that any SEC team...

that makes it through the season and SEC Championship game undefeated should play for the National Championship. But just wait, the pollsters will find a way to get USC in the Championship game after them getting the screw last year. I am still not that impressed with either the Trojans or the Sooners, they have struggled several times this year.

While Auburn has yet to play a close game besides LSU, they are still undefeated and still took Georgia to the woodshed. We will have to play our A+ game to have a decent chance to win next weekend.

I hope we can crush Auburn's chance of a Championship, but if they get past us, I hope they get a shot. I feel they are playing the best all-around ball thus far.

Still, we need to derail them and send them back to their respective place.

ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bama Greg

BamaGreg, AU has struggled against LSU so they have struggle also. Fact, it could be said that they were given the game with the b.s. call on the extra point. I would gurantee you that AU would have struggled more if they had played OU's schedule also. If anyone deserves to be left out of the championship game it should be USC.
