I know some of you have to be saying in the back of your head, We can't win out like this every game.I commend his bring us back attitude. But I'm a little worried going down the stretch with only Henry. I know you guys see our running game leave a lot to be desired. So it's not all on Blakes completion ratio.I can see why we throw so much, If Blake is on his game he can win for us,But he needs some hep in the running game.Miss St is coming and I doubt Yeldon is able too play. Our offensive line better step it up for 2nd 3rd string backs.

i'm not concerned one bit about Sims. AJ had plenty of bad games against good defenses but we were able to overcome behind a strong running game. Which for me also causes worry. Our offensive line isnt a strong point and we are becoming thin at RB.

Re: Blakes Percentage Of Completions

This game for Blake was similar to the 2012 LSU game for AJ. In the 2nd half of the 2012 game, AJ did NOTHING...until he engineered the game winning drive at the very end.

I think this may have been a breakthrough game for Blake. He got it done on the road, in the most hostile environment in college football, against the best defense he'll face this year.

Re: Blakes Percentage Of Completions

Lsu is not the team we are going to face all year sorry. Our running game has lacked all year pretty much for the most part and i think that is why Coach is letting Kiffin throw the ball so much. All I am saying is Blake is going to have to be more consistent, the running game needs to improve if we are going to compete at a higher level. I wasn't worried about Miss St till Yeldon went down.My question in my mind is our back up running backs that bad were not seeing no.3. Henry needs holes and a full head of steam to get in the secondary to be effective or maybe giving him the ball over and over he will be come more effective. Just don't see the running back moves and I hope wrong.

I think Henry just needs more touches myself. Him going into next week knowing he is #1, and if they game plan around that, he will be fine. Maybe not in the 1st qtr, but later in the game. I feel like we need to pound the ball which will help Simms in the passing game.

Yes, he was 20-45 last night, but how many of those 25 incompletions were drops or throw-aways? There were several drops. Not like Blake made 25 horrible throws last night.

How about Blake's INT Percentage in the game? Try ZERO PERCENT!!!!!!!! I'll take it.

Despite 8 cathes and a TD, Cooper did not have his best game. A number of easy drops and stepping out instead of fighting for a first down on a key play were very unCooper-like.

Re: Blakes Percentage Of Completions

If you think about it, the challenge of playing a night game at LSU against those athletes on defense is probably the hardest test our offense will have the rest of the season.

We're now through with SEC road games, the offense and Sims will probably play better in general at home, make it into the playoffs, some of those teams aren't real good on defense.
Maybe we can pull it off with Sims after all.

It is funny, we have all just gotten used to his almost INT for every game. I have been a big supporter of Blake from the beginning, and he played like a champion for the final 50 seconds and in OT.

LSU ranks #8 nationally in total defense (current NCAA stats).

Miss State? #52.

Auburn? #79

If LSU in Tiger Stadium isn't the best defense he'll play, what team will be better?

These type of arguments sound very familiar to before we lost to ole miss. I don't care what their rankings are in an area. Everyone plays better than they are against us.

Doesn't everyone remember after the North Texas game in 2009 (?) when Saban gave his "I don't give a "crap" who we play" speech. Bottom line is we need to execute at a higher level on O.

This win was huge, but I'm not hanging my hat on it. RTR

Re: Blakes Percentage Of Completions

So 44.4 percent is not the whole picture, not blaming anyone its a team game got that. It's the timing of the completions to keep drives alive, yards by running backs, time of possession. Third Quarter possession time was bad.My point was we need better completion rate from all, better blocking and some depth at RB too win the rest of our games. So if some want to bring up rankings fine, what were these 3 weeks in to the season, thats a snap shot of a season up to this point its not a complete season.I gave Blake kudos for the way he was 8-10 I believe at the end of the game Great job.We just need to get better the whole game. You are not going to win games like this at the end, all the time.

Obviously there are no guarantees; I was simply stating my opinion that we won't face a more talented defense in a tougher environment than the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.

First a first year starting QB like Blake, this W should provide confidence. (But in the SEC, we never have the luxury of overconfidence.)

Re: Blakes Percentage Of Completions

It takes at least 2 players to make a completion, and usually many more. Several of those incompletions were from miscommunication. A couple were just dropped by the receiver. A few were bad throws. I think we'll see a very improved game from Blake next Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Why single Blake out then? The offense had issues, not just Blake.

OM hasn't ranked 50 or lower in any defensive stat category all season. OM and LSU have two of the best defenses and both were road games. Now if we don't score at least 30 on MSU and AU at home then we have some real problems..
