I went out to Hazel Green to watch my old HS play and to check out some players. After coming off a beat down by N Gwinnett, GA (quarterbacked by auburn commitment CJ Uzomah) Bob Jones rebounded nicely with a 45 - 0 shutout.
Reggie Ragland: 2012 scholarship offer
He looks out of place on the field with his size. I believe he's listed at 6'4 225 and I wouldn't doubt it. Last season he played a lot of TE, but this year I've only seen him line up a few times on offense (in the 2 games I've watched; the jamboree game vs Fairhope and last night).
I wish I had some stats to pass along, but he was around the ball all night. He'd lower a shoulder and the ball carrier would just jolt back. There's no doubt he knows how to hit. He did have a few roughing the kicker calls on some punts. He was just back there SO QUICKLY (probably because no one guy on HG could block him) and he'd make contact with the punter just as the ball would leave his foot. Some of them were pretty close calls though.
Collins Moore: 2011 Ole Miss commitment
I became a huge fan of CM last season. In 2009 he played Safety and WR, as well as returned kicks/punts. This year I've only noticed him on offense and he still returns kicks/punts. He's listed at 6'2 185 and I could see that. He's not a burner, but can get separation and catches the ball with ease. Not to mention he looks comfortable making plays over the middle and in traffic. But what's most impressive to me, are the yards he gains after the catch. Ole Miss got a good one.
Not football related, but I walked by Levi Randolph: 2011 basketball commitment. I'm 6'3 and he definitely had an inch or two on me. Some weight room work will do him good though, he's pretty thin.
Maybe someone else will know this, but Bob Jones has a RB named Trai Ragland (SR) who is listed at 5'11 215. He runs well and has been like a 4 year starter. I never hear anything about him nor do I see him getting much attention on the recruiting websites. He's normally good for a TD a game. Just curious.
Also, there is a Goode that plays for Bob Jones and I want to say that I read in the paper that he is kin to the Goode's from the Leighton area. I thought that was interesting.
I plan on going to as many Bob Jones games as I can. Especially the home games, I can walk over there from my house. I'll try to pass get a hold of and pass along some stats in the future.
