True...but the CFP is a self-fulfilling prophecy...THEY make the rankings ....so can manipulate who plays a ranked opponent.
Sorry, none of the other polls has Alabama playing a ranked team other than LSU and Auburn. It isn't Alabama's fault that the rest of your opponents sucked this year, but they did.

Utah's metrics are worse than ours and also have beaten nobody ranked yet they're ranked higher than us. They should've been moved to #13.

Yes. It was really interesting how at the end of the season certain teams, like Baylor, were moved up to create better ranking match-ups for the championship games etc. And to leave GA at #5 after that dismal showing, and a loss to South Carolina. Worst committee ever.

AP and Coaches have us at #9....yet the all knowing commitee says #13.....hmmm...something aint right in committee land. They got the top 4 right because it picked itself this year...oh for a few upsets yesterday to truly test them...

To be clear, I think that Alabama should be ranked #6, and I would not bet against Alabama in a game against any team, including OSU. My point was that you don't have a win against a ranked opponent. But my eyes tell me that this team dominated those 10 unranked opponents and that domination was not given proper weight.

And the old BCS model has us #9 with two of the computer models (Sagarin and Massey) having us in the Top 4.

Guys, I understand being upset about your ranking, but IMO you were saved from a terrible bowl match-up because of their idiocy. Celebrate their nonsense because you benefit. More people will watch this Alabama game than any of the NY6 bowls. It will probably get better ratings than any non-playoff bowl game this post-season.

This is my thought, too. Who cares where you are ranked if you don't get into the CFP. I would rather have a decent opponent. I don't want to be playing Memphis in the Cotton or UVA in the Orange. I hope this motivates our guys for next year (and for this year against Michigan).

After seeing that Notre Dame couldn't get in the Orange Bowl in place of the ACC alternate, and Memphis was a lock for the Cotton. This is what I was hoping for. Sure there is a good possibility that we show up flat and get whacked by Harbaugh, but its better to lose to them than get whacked by Memphis or Virginia. And the reward for winning is bigger than it is against Virginia and Memphis.

Personally I think we show up motivated and hacked off, and kick Khaki's ass out of Disney World. Im super excited about this matchup.

I don’t disagree. But I also don’t think this system is sustainable. It’s hard to put it into words right now but I think it’s got something to do with this committee conducting itself like the Soviet government.

I’m definitely happy to not face UVA or Memphis in a Bowl, Michigan is a better matchup and may encourage a lot of the guys to not sit out. 11-2 season with a win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl is better than potentially losing to Memphis.

My whole thing is that Georgia is not 8 spots better than us, this team with Mac would beat UGA by 20. This committee has to stop with the year-by-year agendas.
