Brandon Spikes THUG Play vs UGA

I'll bring the hand grenade

After reading the article in the st. pete times, I'll bring spikes and his two lover's, Saint-TT & Lord-UM. What happens after they're dropped off is up to ya'll..:PDT_Armataz_01_40:
Just remember your going up against a Punk, a Saint and a Lord!:cool2:

let me use this analogy- if someone walked up and pimp slapped your wife/gf one single time, would you-
A. Tell him to please don't ever perform that outlandish behavior again or you will tell the authorities.
B. Whip the snot out of him until you were tired.

2 wrongs don't make a right, but I will choose choice B every single time.... and so would almost everyone else on this board.

... and if a video camera caught you in the act of B, you would be in jail charged with assault.

However, your analogy is still quite off. Was Easley the one that allegedly performed all of these dastardly acts against Spikes? It seems that it would be a bit foolhardy for a freshman runningback to instigate dirty play against an agressive veteran player like Spikes. If not, then why wasn't Spikes taking his frustration out on the player that was responsible for the actions? Why did he go after this particular player? Just convenience? Perhaps an easier mark than the player that fouled him?

Either way, it was not only classless, but a bit cowardly on his part. Maybe he should've just waited until the game was over and kicked the waterboy. That would've showed 'em, wouldn't it?

It is interesting.

Brother Bill Oliver thinks the whole Spikes thing is overblown and said all the media and internet talking heads screaming for punishment have no idea what they are talking about.

The UGA TB Washaun Ealey said no one gouged his eyes and didn't think Spikes should have been suspended:

“I think he shouldn’t have gotten suspended at all. We were just out there playing football.”

Ealey: Spikes didn't deserve suspension | Blogs.OnlineAthens.com

Reading that interview, it gives credence to the internet rumor that Ealey had spit on Spikes the play before and Spikes reached in and rubbed the saliva back in Ealey's face.

Anyway, actual players and coaches disagree with 99% of the posters here, and tomorrow the media will move on to the next controversy du jour, but the incident sure has created an interesting 2 days here on Tidefans.com

This is where those posters who still care can post their last diatribes and screeds on the dirty Spikes, the sleazy Meyer and the crooked SEC before this thread scrolls off the front page and into obscurity, where it belongs.

It's an honor to know that you get all of your news from Tidefans.com and that you think so highly of us here. But this is a national story. I don't know why you're acting like it's limited to this board, but it's been on every sports radio show I've listened to the past two days. Mike and Mike, The Herd, Dan Patrick, The Scott Van Pelt Show, etc. . . It's currently on the front page of espn.com. I don't know why you think it's relegated to just us. Every fanbase has been screaming for this guy to get suspended, so why are you coming here trying to provoke us?

All that had to happen to prevent any of this was to suspend Spikes for the entire Vandy game. That's it. It's done. Florida will probably be up on Vandy 35-0 at halftime anyway and Spikes wouldn't even have played the second half. None of this makes any sense, least of all you.

he pulled a typical thug move...several buddies hold the victim down and then he pokes his eyes out...great move punk spikes...he should be in jail ( a half game suspension is a complete joke)...they would have been better off to have done nothing than the 1/2 game deal...we need to put face shields on our guys helmets when we play them...

Maybe they have some common friends or belong to the same club. Anyway, you could always say he was just helping clean some grass off his face. What a pal.

I bet that he would have a different view if Spikes had longer fingers (pun intended)...

Look if this is the type of team you want your Gaytors to be then why worry so much that you have to come here and try to change our minds. If you don't have a problem with a 80's-90's Maimi style thugocracy for a team then why bother with any suspension at all. To suspend Spikes for just a half is a joke and all of the analyst I have seen agree with me. Mike Golic called it a joke, Steve Young did also, and finally I saw Kirk Herbstreit. I have yet to see anyone who thought it was a fine punishment.

Have ya noticed Spikes wears a shield? Hmmmmm.

You're only interested because it's your ox being gored, and we're doing the goring.

In conducting your little google investigation, have you found that the esteemed Mr. Spikes has expressed any remorse or offered any apology?

Georgia running back Washaun Ealey says Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes shouldn't be suspended - ESPN

"I accept responsibility for my actions and I accept the consequences of my actions," Spikes said. "I would like to apologize to my team and the coaching staff and Washaun Ealey. Football is a very physical and emotional game, but there is no excuse for my actions."
