He was batting .274 and having a good July (.317). Maybe the extended rest will help him on the back stretch. IMHO, his OPS is pretty low (.765) for somebody hitting in the 3 hole or cleanup and being as big & strong as he is (or should be).

When I last checked the score yesterday it was 5-3 and I thought to myself we’d score 1 run to make it 5-4….lol

It’s definitely down from his best.

It looked like for a couple years there he was settling into the .850-.890 OPS range like an All-Star player.

He’s down a good .100 in OPS and a large amount is surprisingly from a drop in SLG %
