I couldn't watch the game last night because it was on Apple TV, but I listened to the final innings.

Btw - did anyone see what happened just a few miles up the street from me last night?

The Cubs and Arizona took a 2-1 game into the 7th inning stretch.

Then the Cubs scored 5 runs.
Then Arizona got 10 in the top of the 8th.
Then the Cubs got 6 more.

The final was 13-11.

I did see that. And it reminded me of another 10 run inning. And then I was depressed.

Braves Win ! BRAVES Win! Braves WIN! BRAVES WIN!

That's one chop for each win.

They're now 6-13.

Some stats to solidify how bad these Braves are:

leading hitter is Ozuna @ .288
Riley is next at .269, Albies at .257, Olson @ .209. That's it for guys with min at bats and >0.200 .. Four guys.

Only Ozuna and Riley are above 0.800 OPS. No power on this team.

Riley is striking out 34% of the time. Ozuna 26%. Harris 24%.

Your opening day pitcher (Sale) has an ERA of 6.63, has allowed 25 hits, 15 runs in 4 games started. Hitters batting .313 against him.

They started 0-7 and have not won 2 games in a row all season. They're 6.5 games back already.

These yokels are looking like some of the late 70's / early 80's teams ... and we don't even get to have legendary TBS broadcasters who at least made watching some of those games tolerable.

I know y'all know all of this but sometimes the truth just has to be said outload so we can commiserate in the ignominy

Our ACE is in NY now to make things worse.

Fried is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA and his 2nd highest career K/9 and K/BB ratios.

I bet Wright gets back to form too with KC

Our MVP is in LA.

We’ll keep getting worse if we let our best players leave and try to replace them with inferior bargain basement players.

Our Coaching stinks too.

Need a completely new staff.

Only Matt Olson could hit a double like that for his 1,000th career hit and it would be a disappointment - because it shoulda been outta there.

Tied 3-3 in bottom of 6th, Kelenic, batting 0.174, hits a long one… watches it as he walks to first, realizes it’s not outta here, begins to run, and is barely tagged out at 2nd. Idiot.

He wouldnt be playing the next five games if Im the manager. Pitiful.
He should be optioned to the Minors.

He was on the fence anyway but after that… yeah bye.

From the other thread, about Verduga being called up.
Sure, someone batting .207 against minor league pitching is going to be the saving grace of this team. He's 6-29 with 4 BB in 33 PA. That does not instill much confidence IMO. I guess AA has to act like he's trying something, right.
Boy was I wrong, he has provided a spark in the lineup, at least for one night.
