Burton Scott's "Uno Package"

In an article I read in the Mobile Press Register, it said that Saban wanted him on defense until he watched him play and realized that this guy should be scoring touchdowns for us. They are calling his plays the "Uno" package which feaures him at QB, RB, and WR since he has already been cleared to wear the number 1 jersey next year. I can't wait to see this one, and I hope an OC change doesn't affect this package. Here's the article

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
From what I've read on him and watched on his recruiting tapes this a kid that potentially can be one of those rare "explosive" players than can take over a game. Those types of players don't come every recruiting class so you better place him wisely. And our defense is in a much better state than offense. We need him on offense much more than we need him on defense.

Can we get one that will also serve as OC too? That would truly help us out plus we would not have to/nor be able to pay him (NCAA rules). That would save money and we could use it to make additions to the stadium.
Just a thought.......

Can you imagine this guy, Robert Lester, and JJ all on the field at the same time? I get giddy just thinking about the possibility...These guys are studs!

umm it doesnt matter if Scott plays on defense or offense they all wont be on the same field as JJ (assuming your talkin about Julio Jones and not Jimmy Johns) will play on offense and Lester will play on defense.

I have to be really honest about this one, I am extremely excited about this one.

Burton Scott may very well be the most electrifying player like this that we have had since David Palmer, and we all know how he excelled in a very similar situation. Moreover, Scott has spent his entire high school career as a jack of all trades, so he should transition quickly.

And Lord knows our offense needs an explosive player like that to just get him the ball. I loved D.J. Hall, but he was never anything like that. He was a receiver who got open downfield with great hips (i.e. change of direction) and precise route-running. He was never a player we could just give the ball to and make something happen.

Scott could bring something that has been sorely missing in the Tide's offense for years now.

Agreed. Im expecting maybe Melvin Ray to be a DJ/Possession type player, but we haven't had an explosive playmaker since Prothro. And we look to be bringing in a few of them, most specifically Burton and Julio.
