Fair enough. Then I retract that and ask where I was wrong in my opinion of your opinion. You are one of the more eloquent posters in this forum and I certainly respect your point of view - even if we do not agree...

You seem to be of the opinion that we're all calling for the nazi's to indiscriminately punish everyone at the slightest sign of wrongdoing. That's not true at all, we simply want everyone to be held to the same standard. If USC is found to be dirty, they should be severely punished.

We were hammered on the words of two HS coaches of dubius character and secret witnesses with an ax to grind and against the by-laws of the NCAA. Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Ohio State, to name a few were treated with kid gloves for similar or worse infractions and with more definitive proof of wrongdoing. We're not asking for anything out of the ordinary, just a level playing field.

Another twist in the Reggie Bush saga. Frankly, I'm starting to think this thing has gotten blown way out of porportion because of simply who he is. He certainly sounds like he knows the real truth will eventually come out and clear him of any wrong doing.

I think the fact that the agent tried to get money out of Bush after he failed to sign shows that Bush had contacts with an agent while still playing. The fact that this "agent" engaged in some allegedly illegal activities should have no bearing on whether or not Mr. Bush had improper contacts with or received impermissible benefits from an agent while an "amateur."

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

A moment of Truth

So, Reggie, why not end it?

"I could," he said. "But there is a time and a place for me and my family and how we want to handle things. We're not going to let anybody dictate to us when we should speak up."

Re: Uh oh..looks like Reggie Bush may be in trouble

"The university takes charges of sexual assault seriously," Michael Jackson, USC vice president of student affairs, said in a statement. "Depending on the facts as established by the LAPD, we will determine the appropriate action. In the interim, the student will be placed on interim suspension while the case is pending."

On a side note, how funny is it that USC's vice president of student affairs taking care of sexual assault cases is Michael Jackson?

Yeah, I noticed that too. :eek2: I believe I'd go by "Mike" or initials.

A program in turmoil; Sanchez arrest latest in a litany of trouble at USC
The scene, as it was described in published reports late Wednesday, read like something out of a Law and Order script: LAPD cars descending on the parking lot of an apartment complex across the street from the USC campus, there to arrest a young man accused of committing sexual assault.

For followers of the prestigious Trojans football program, the identity of the alleged culprit was nothing short of shocking: Mark Sanchez, USC's affable, curly-haired, golden boy quarterback long ago hailed as the next Matt Leinart.

Re: Will there be trouble for USC?

Gee isn't this interesting:

"Even if it is found that Bush or his parents compromised his NCAA eligibility during the 2005 season, there is no clear signal to what might happen. While there is both case precedent and written rules stating the NCAA would punish USC with forfeitures, potential revenue loss and even sanctions, it also might choose to do nothing.

In a similar circumstance, a federal indictment of a busted sports agency uncovered that Heisman trophy winner Charles Woodson accepted tens of thousands of dollars in cash and gifts from an agent during Michigan's 1997 co-national championship season. But the NCAA never even bothered to investigate the situation, let alone punish the Wolverines.

With the NCAA, justice has always been a sliding scale involving haves and have-nots. With that big reputation and big media market behind it, USC football is most certainly (like Michigan) a have. So maybe there is nothing for the Trojans to sweat no matter what the truth is."

I guess Alabama was just a "have not" in the past two investigations.

No, Alabama had the most corrupt university paying the most corrupt organization to give us the shaft.

Re: Will there be trouble for USC?

Scab is a moron. I scan most of the Bama boards and the vast majority hope no ill will towards USC. I am one of them. Instead, I direct my ill will towards the NCAA for being so blatantly irrational in how it ivestigates and punishes schools.
If anyone doesn't believe that they were after Bama after they were embarrassed by the large lawsuit they had to pay out because of the Langham affair then they are kidding themselves. Also, if any team in the SEC other than UT thinks that the NCAA doesn't have it in for the SEC then they are living blind.
