Canadians can’t earn NIL…apparently

I just read an article that Edey can’t earn NIL money because he’s on a student visa from Canada. Could this be why Bediako bolted for the NBA last year? Maybe not THE factor but maybe a big contributor.
Edey was quoted as saying he could make money off jersey sales but couldn’t go record a commercial. Makes me question why he bothered to stay in college.

Probably because he’s getting paid in ways that fly under the radar.
