Carlos Dunlap arrested for DUI (suspended for SECCG)

Sounds like he got arrested for a DUI. This is similar to losing Percy Harvin last year, imo.

we will take it, it is so hard to repeat any championship much less in SEC. Maybe Tebow can mention that in his speech after the game

I think we all need a bit of a chill pill on this one... first off, we don't know if this is really THE Carlos Dunlap (there's some talk about the player actually being Carlos Dunlap, Jr)... but if it is true Meyer has a pretty good record of suspending players for things this serious. Given the limelight this game is going to be played in it will even be harder for him not to suspend the kid if it is true.

Given the limelight this game is going to be played in it will even be harder for him not to suspend the kid if it is true.

Note the news report linked in the post immediately preceding yours...of course, the Gainsville reporter may be incapable of properly identifying UF football players.

Florida Criminal Status: Any DUI violation resulting in property damage is a misdemeanor of the 1st degree. Any DUI violation resulting in serious bodily injury to another is a 3rd degree felony. Any DUI violation that results in the death of another is DUI manslaughter, resulting in either a 1st or 2nd degree felony, depending on the circumstances.

Carlos' was 2nd Degree. Did he hit someone? I'm sure we'll hear more in the next few hours.

Edit: Realized it was a 2nd Degree Misdemeanor, not a 2nd Degree Felony. According to this site., a 2nd Degree Misdeamor carries a 60 day jail term if convicted.

Until I hear from CUM that Dunlap is out of the game, I will continue to believe that he will play. If he is willing to risk Tebow's life by letting him play against LSU when he was clearly not ready, a silly little thing like a DUI will not stand in his way...

He suspended Spikes half a game for trying to permanently handicap another human being. Since Dunlap didn't actually hurt anyone or himself, what type of suspension does this carry? A quarter? The first snap?
