-The matchup between Alabama and Ole Miss was announced as the 3:30 p.m. game earlier this month as Nick Saban takes on former assistant Lane Kiffin in the SEC opener. But some fans were surprised to learn CBS’ lead team — Nessler, Danielson and Jenny Dell — would be in Happy Valley instead of Tuscaloosa...

This ought to make the "Gary Haters" and the anti-Danielson crowd happy :)

I'm guessing that if BAMA was still ranked in the Top 5, CBS would not have made the switch.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
can you imagine how much more tedious it would be to listen to gary with all that is going on this season?
Gary's brain would overload with all the things he felt he "HAD" to cover and work in why an obscure second and 6 play on the second play of the opening series could not only come back and haunt the Tide at the end of the game but change the trajectory of the entire program for the next 20 years. Just too much for Gary...

Using Nessler and Danielson for Iowa-Penn State makes no sense because CBS won't have a very big audience for that game since most everyone will be focused on Ohio State-Notre Dame which is broadcast in the same time slot on NBC.

I think this is more CBS taking a dig at the SEC since we decided not renew our deal with them. They are Big 10 partners moving forward.
That's exactly right. This is the last year of CBS and I imagine this will be the norm this season.

For whatever reason this happened Penn St and Iowa are on the short end of the stick… I am very happy almost ecstatic …if I knew how to put in a dancing character I would …so just close your eyes and imagine me dancing
