it’s a dumb argument because the Vikings were trying to replace their #1 receiver and the Raiders weren’t. Ruggs is probably going to be their #1 down the line. Ruggs is the better receiver out of the two.

Smith vs Chase is a lot closer. Personally I think Smith is better but I’m biased. Both are probably going to do well in the NFL.
And as you know, how well they do will weigh heavily into which organization they go to.

We're in agreement. If he cobbled together good seasons with Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill, think about what he could do with Mac, Thomas, Sanders, Smith, and Kamara. The salary cap situation is a disaster, so I'm thinking the defense is about to be sold off or released. They might have to score even more than usual. It will be interesting to see if Russell Wilson is actually in play for the Saints. I've read salary cap gurus that think a huge trade for Wilson might be the best way to clear space if Wilson restructures his contract to take the cap hits down the road. Otherwise, I think they'll draft best QB available and ride Taysom or Crab Legs until they feel the rookie is ready.
Russell Wilson to the Saints isn’t going to magically solve their crazy cap issues. It’s probably going to kill any hope they have competing with the Bucs. It’s going to require them to get rid of a lot of great players and a lot of key draft picks to get him. Yes he is a massive upgrade from what they got but at what cost?

wilson is probably heading to Vegas or Dallas if he moves.

That's a pretty bold take given what Jefferson just did. The guy had arguably the best season of any WR in the NFL statistically. Ruggs may end up having the better career, who knows, but I'm surprised at your confidence in this.

I do agree Smith vs Chase is really close though.

For Wide Receivers it’s generally different than quarterbacks. Anyone that is taking a wide receiver in the 1st round is basically saying “we have a good quarterback that we trust and we are giving him weapons with this pick”. I think the odds are more in their favor to go to an organization in which they Can have a good career.

Do you think Jefferson is better than Mike Evans, Julio, Diggs, Godwin, Thomas, AB, or Hopkins? Or do you think the fact that he accounted for over 1/4th of the Vikings passing was more of a result of the Vikings having a quarterback that didn’t trust anyone around him?

Has Ruggs done anything to show he is on the level of Evans, Julio, Diggs, Godwin, Thomas, Ab or Hopkins? Or is capable of accounting for 1/4th of a teams passing offense?

Dude had fewer targets than every other WR with comparable yardage. He's clearly pretty good. Again, Maybe Ruggs ends up better but I'm just surprised at your confidence in that.

My point is one outstanding year and one mediocre year can’t be the deciding factor out of two players. How many times have we seen this story flip in one year? There were people that really thought JuJu was as good as AB because of one year. What are they saying now? Hell we see this with quarterbacks all the time.

BTW Ruggs didn’t get 1/4th of the Raiders passing yards. I really don’t know why you left that part in.

Let's also don't discount the incompetency of Jon Gruden having the imagination and common sense of a cinder block. I can't tell you how many times I watched the Raiders run a WR screen with Ruggs lead blocking and Hunter Renfrow receiving the screen. You just drafted a guy in Ruggs with blazing speed and quickness and you have him lead blocking on a WR screen to Renfrow? Wow!

Gruden maybe the most overrated coach in history to win a SB. Dungy basically built that team. Gruden just destroyed a team that honestly should’ve been a dynasty by cutting all the defense for weird offensive additions.

I’m a Bucs fan so I’ll always be thankful for the SB win under him, but I think he’s the worst coach to ever win a SB and not as good as many who have never even gone to one.

We won it all in year one and it was all downhill from there.

Gruden gets judged by a different standard than any other coach for whatever reason. The guy hasn’t won a playoff game for 18 years. Every time some SEC rival is talking to him I’m like “Please let it happen”. He had a super team and squandered it off of stupid decisions.

I’ve never seen someone get so much capital from winning a SB. Just about any decent coach could’ve probably won with that team. I honestly believe that perhaps even Dungy could’ve broken through that year. Yes what Gruden accomplished that year was great, but what has he done since? 64-80 with 0 playoff wins isn’t really in the great coach category. Hell Pederson just got fired after winning the SB 3 years ago. Even he has a playoff win since. I would dare say Jim Harbaugh is a better NFL coach than Gruden.
