Sad thing is...when you are at the top, and you get beat, you instantly become someone's game of the year. Therefore, a lot of the recent classics and/or top plays of the year are players/teams getting one over on us. Guess that is our side dish of humility. RTR

Yeah...even when we weren't as good as we are, whenever they would show a player's highlight reel as he was going into the draft, if they were from the SEC, you can always bet on them having a play on there vs us. Guess it legitimizes them somehow

We are always going to the the "loser" in most of these re-runs because it is usually an upset or very close, classic type game when we lose.

Most of the time we blow folks out and nobody (except us Bama fans) re-watch those type games.

It's the price of being the class of the SEC!

Not sure how the Alabama/Georgia SECCG isn't #1. That was a far better game than the Alabama/Auburn game.

It takes a lot of "luck" in order to be considered a really great game. The BAMA / Georgia SECCG was two really good teams playing a great herd hitting game. The Auburn game was also better, because the better team lost.

I agree. The Bama/agbarn game was so riddled with mistakes where the Bama/UGA SECCG was two prizefighters in a slugfest and was well played by both sides.

This continues to be the refrain from the talking heads. I heard it said this morning that Florida State may be more talented than Alabama.

The experts know it was just a case of us not playing our best game, but still consider us to be the best team in the country!

So eight of the greatest ten games on CBS (SEC version) have been in the past five years?

I know that CBS showed the 1987 Iron Bowl (which was a drab, 10-0 game). But really?

I can think right off of some other games that might ought to make the list:

2001 LSU-Tennessee (SECCG)
2003 Alabama-Tennessee
2004 Auburn-LSU
2005 Alabama-Tennessee
2007 LSU-Arkansas
2009 Alabama-Tennessee
2009 Alabama-Auburn
2010 Alabama-Arkansas

Don't forget Florida-South Carolina 2006

I thought everyone agreed that 2012 LSU/Alabama was better quality-wise than 2011?

Remember how nobody other than us wanted a rematch?

I agree. The Bama/agbarn game was so riddled with mistakes where the Bama/UGA SECCG was two prizefighters in a slugfest and was well played by both sides.
Alabama made several mistakes against UGA, too.

Bama threw a pick in the endzone.
Bama doesn't snap the ball fast enough on the fake punt, which may have gone for a TD; UGA successfully does a fake punt.
Poor clock management at the end of the first half leads to a FG rather than a TD.
The blocked FG went for a TD.

That's at least 14 points Bama left on the board.
