really good article. it's all true, too. 'Bama's not dead. That's just stupid! We are loaded with talent. There is something about that fight song that will bring tears to the eyes of grown men. There is and always will be a mystique that surrounds this program. Whether your for or against Cecil, it's nice to read a sports-related article that doesn't bash the Bama program.

First and foremost, Cecil is a journalist. Old school (i.e. checks his sources, doesn't parade his opinions as fact, ect.) He calls it like it is, even when the facts are not terribly fun to read.

I believe his is right about the heart of this team. The blowtorch just needs to be refined.

Thank you so much for the post. To picture Joe Kines saying those things to our players makes me fight very hard not to shead the tears that seem to be building in my eyes. This is from a guy that didn't cry when "old yeller' died. I have grown to love coach Kines because he is a very tough guy who has a very big soft spot for Alabama and it's players. I have loved Alabama Football all my life and Nothing will ever change that. ""Roll Tide""......

Good article once again by Cecil. Cecil has great insight when it comes to BAMA football, and puts things in perspective.

As the weeks go by, I have to belive that the RIGHT coach is coming to BAMA.

Sorry if you disagree. I think Frank Deford is one of the brilliant Sports Writers of our time. It was certainly meant to be a compliment (tomato...tomato).

I have never actually read that article but I have heard others mention it. He can come across as an intellectual snob at times but is brilliant none the less.

If you can provide me with that article TB I would greatly appreciate it.
