I don't buy there's much of a fall off.

The schedule is tough, but it'll be tough for every SEC team too. This team will also have some left over CNS DNA in them, which should count for something!

I say 1 loss. Maybe 2. That'll be good enough for the playoff IMO unless 2 happen late in the year.

Actually the game that could put our season in peril is the Wisconsin game. We keep scheduling a tough OOC game every year where we have nothing to gain but plenty to lose. Suffer an upset at Madison and lose at home to UGA and we start the season 2-2 with many tough games left.

I'll predict a 9 win season however and we'll just sneak into the playoff. During the CFP era a 3 loss team has been ranked among the top 12 on selection Sunday over 60% of the time so if any 3 loss team is selected it probably would be Bama with the schedule we have.

That prediction seems more than fair.

Our schedule is straight brutal.

We have a LOT of new players. More so than any previous year because of all the portal shenanigans.

So I feel like we need to be bit patient and see how things gel.

I love the new staff and expect us to still be in the National title mix but we are entering a new CFB landscape.

CNS barely got us into last years playoff and that was with some external fortune that went our way.

We have a New Staff, Lots of new Players, and imo still an unsettled situation at QB.

9-3 to 12-0 will be where we land though. Things would have be disastrous to not finish at least 9-3.

Going undefeated will be close to miraculous!

11-1/10-2 would be GREAT!

9-3 - depending on where other teams in other conferences finish could make us nervous on selection Sunday.

8-4/7-5 - probably make a lot of people restless and question the direction of the program.

I think the wheels would have to almost come off to go 7-5. QB or OL or defense would have to bust to be that bad.

Bama's schedule is tough this year. Teams like Ole Miss have a much easier schedule.
I think Bama loses 2 games at most in regular season and makes the playoffs. I'm not sure what will happen in the playoffs. It depends on injuries, circumstances, etc. RTR

This is going to be a strange year for me. First, no CNS, and two, I always expect for BAMA to win them all. But, change is inevitable, and I think we made a great hire to replace CNS. I'm hoping for 10 wins and at least be in the SEC Championship game. (I'm hoping the better SEC teams don't beat each up and let the lesser SEC teams with easier schedules sneak up to the top). Plus, we need to beat Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn for sure so I can feel like everything is right in the world.

This part of the report I have an issue with. But I stand corrected if I misunderstood.
50/50 Games: Auburn, Georgia, at LSU, Missouri, at Oklahoma, South Carolina, at Tennessee, at Wisconsin
I see Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Auburn right now as wins. I feel we have better personnel than Missouri, Oklahoma, LSU, and Tennessee.
That leaves Georgia, so I don’t see 3 losses unless we under achieve. Just my 2 cents.

My take also but near the bottom the predict 9-3, so there is that to cypher into the mix.

I still don’t understand how anyone can look at our schedule and see anything better than 10-2. If UF’s schedule weren’t so brutal, people would be talking about how difficult ours is.
I know our schedule is brutal, but I haven't looked at the schedules of the new kids on the block. How are the schedules for Texas and OU. Are we giving them a pass because they are new, or do they both have tough schedules like BAMA?

10-2 would be not too shabby, and, in the SEC, should be enough to get in the playoffs.
The key thing will be to peak at the end of the season. If Bama drops two games, learn from them and get better.
I'm optimistic.

They gave Texas a pass, three true road games, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Texas A&M , they have Oklahoma in Dallas so they got lucky
