I've got a friend who had a Rottweiler but he trained it to gentle as a Poodle. How tickled would you be if one of the voting groups (say, the AP) awarded FSU the championship rather than Bama? Would you laugh aloud at the fact that Bama's NC would have an asterisk beside it forever?

2017 was enough for me, I don't want anything detracting from what the REAL national champion accomplishes.

Therefore I want UGA to CRUSH FSU so there's no doubt.

If the AP poll is not supposed to really matter anymore, it's no big deal to me how they vote.

The best programs do not always prevail. The point of competition is the best do not always win. If this were about the best programs the final four should be Alabama, Georgia, OSU, and FSU. If FSU is a swear word replace with Texas or Washington. I watched the Georgia<>Bama game. Bowers and McConkey were shadows of themselves. I think Georgia would do just fine in a rematch with both fully healed. FSU would be just fine with their 2nd string QB throwing jump balls to Coleman. OSU would have beaten Georgia last year if Harrison Jr was not knocked of the game. OSU just happened to play team a completely calibrated for beating them this year. OSU has significantly more football talent than Michigan. The first Michigan pick in the 2024 draft might be in the bottom of the 2nd round. Regardless of the results on the field, OSU is the better program and better suited for winning a playoff game in a sunny clime or in a domed stadium. I would argue of all the teams OSU is built best to win a college playoff game. With a month to prepare, these games shootouts. OSU is the team that can win a game 50 to 40. Marvin Harrison Jr is deity among ants. Which where the NFL has the leg up on college football. No TV executive could tell Nick Foles, that the Eagles were being replaced in the playoffs with a more competitive team because he looked so bad the last two games of the regular season.

But I am getting off base. I don't mind if the best teams get in. I stated from the beginning of this thread college football has never been about fair. I'm saying if we want college football to remain as is, the illusion of fair needs to remain even if we chortle that it is not. Keep going with things the way they are and college will become minor league NFL. Perhaps that is the product that you want. FSU is going to be least of the problems.

Your problem doesn't seem to be that you're ignorant, it's just that you know so many things that aren't true. I get that you're being polite but I don't have a lot of tolerance for butthurt disguised as nuance. The system is what it is. If you stop beating your dry and dusty dead horse you'll see that many here aren't thrilled with the current state of college football.

In all honesty, if Georgia comes to play, the game shouldn't be close.

I did not realize that there are only 65 P5 teams. I was thinking 55th out of 128 or so. 55th out of 65 teams brings a whole new light to that ranking.

I don't think it helps that G5 teams might have a tougher schedule, so 55th out of 65 or 128 makes no difference to me. They can have a tougher schedule than all of the high schools in the country and be 65th out of 16000, but that's not who they are supposed to be being compared to.

I do not understand your sentence. You accuse me of being elitist in thinking a fan base would hope its team has a chance at winning? That is not elitist but egalitarian. We may agree to disagree on the appropriate structure of college football. But I am on a loss on how wanting to have a hope and not just accept my place in the pecking order is "purely elitist"

I don't know about you. But my dream even if not an expectation prior to every season is to play to win a championship. If it is impossible this year, the expectation is the long game. I have watched professional franchises at the bottom. The goal is still to win. It might take a decade before that franchises succeeds, or they have to rebuild and try again. When it clears my team can't win this year, I am still rooting because I am thinking for next year. Even if its decades, so be it. Thinking that everyone dreaming of winning is part of sport is elitist?

"Winning" - yes. "Winning a national championship - no...

What are they expecting to uncover, and what are they hoping to achieve here? Have the Florida politicians not got any actual work to do? If I were the CFP committee, I'd ban all Florida teams from ever making the playoff after this over reaction.

For god sakes, It was a decision by a committee. This wasn't a vote by the general public. You can't find fraud in a committees decision with so many subjective variables. When the overall goal is "The four best teams". How in the world would you prove the committee acted in bad faith/illegally when giving their OPINION on who the four best teams are???? THATS THEIR ENTIRE JOB!!!

Thinking back on it, if jawja had won the SECCG they would have been in and FSU would likely have made it in to play...........jawja.

Quit with the butt-hurt and prove to everyone that they were wrong.

Bottom line is that jawja will skull-drag FSU and prove that FSU didn't belong in it to take the place of a more worth team.

The bowl games (particularly the Orange Bowl) can't get here quick enough.

We have a friend who had a string of boxers. The last one, Moses, was particularly undisciplined. Before he was fully grown, when he weighed about 75 lb, I put him on the floor and lay on top of him for about 20 minutes. When we went to visit later, after he was fully-grown, and weighed over 100, we visited again. Moses went around the room and sniffed everybody. When he got to me, he rose up and put his paws on my chest (he was now as tall as I, when up on his back legs) and proceeded to try to lick me in the face. IDK if dogs develop crushes...
